  • Though reports are still coming in from the battlefront, it would seem that the CSF has finally dealt a serious blow to the ASF. In a lightning stike orchistrated by the CO of the LP, LP_Canoso and the LP Clan, a surgical strike was mounted and exicuted with rezounding effects.

Coming up against the ASF's veterain Ace, MarcBomber, again, the odds seemed well matched. Soon however the fields seemed tilted in the favour of the BG once more with the arrival of Long time Veterain Ace BG_OP_R8R. Things were beginning to look uncertain.

Then to the suprise of many, another Veterian CSF Ace who had been on leave, PiA_Jtak, arrived to rebalance the odds in the favour of the CSF. But this fight would, obviously NOT be won by just mear reputations. The fight was fears and heavy.

But the outcome seemed to be in the stars. With many casualities and many a wiery pilot, the day was won. the Berlin System was won. A mojor blow has been struck towards the liberation of ALL those that fallen to the guns of the ASF Fleets.

This is PiA_ChiefRedCloud reporting from the front lines of the New Berlin System.

  • If there was an attack on New Berlin and only 1 ASF was defending at the start of the attack, then the attack is null & void in accordance to the rules:

    From the updated rules section:

Minimum fighters involved for a battle is 2 on each side

    Intel 2.8 Quad-Core / 8 gig OCZ gaming 1066 mhz DDR2 / BFG GTX 295 (x2) / 24" LCD 4000:1 Monitor/ Razer Copperhead / Lycera keyboard / M1 NIC , 1 Intel SSD ( OS) & 1 OCZ gaming SSD , 10k rpm Velociraptor.

  • My point is and the rules are:

If the attack started and only 1 defender was defending, then the attack by rules, is in fact null and void.

Unless an over-ride in the rules was authorized.

  • I think the whole thing makes more sense if you understand the sequence of events.

LP attacked New Berlin as a raid when there was only 1 BG on server. The PiA were invited to take part, but LP had already reached Frankfurt, and we were several systems away engaged in training. A second BG then came on server, and PiA and DC decided to join the battle. Before we had reached Freeport 7, a third BG came on server.

There is nothing in the rules that says an attack cannot follow a raid, and I would argue (and argue, and argue :) ) that to rule against would reduce the potential for raids.

As it turns out, we all had great fun, and great fights. Although at a numerical disadvantage, BG fought exceptionally well. It was a pleasure to see fighters stepping up a gear. So I would like to send them a hearty Well Done!

  • So this battle doesn`t count...

Assumption is the mother of all fuckups.

  • WE all need to read the rules better so that OP doesn't have to make these decisions. Perhaps we just accomplished a GOOD Raid of Retaliation. Which isn't bad in itself. I lot of good iniative and plain good fighting. From everyone, ASF and CSF alike. What ever the decision is ok with me personally. Because I know we'll all get it right in the end...........and have fun doing it.

ChiefREdCloud reporting somewhere Lost In His On Head

  • i agree with chief the result is unclear because on the political map op made it shows a direct route to new Berlin from sigma 13 so technically new berlin is not behind the ASF lines so technically the result is valid

However that is pure sophistry and the result is obviously void as the jump hole doesn't work but i think the map needs rechecking to make sure there are no unusable routes that could misinterpreted

  • Berlin is CSF territory now
the jumphole does not work but the fight was well done
in future you will know about the correct rules

  • In continiuing struggles towords pushing the ASF invasion back, CSF forces lead by CO and Commander of the LP Clan, Canoso, struck into the Stuttgart System. The fighting was fears and rugged. The Asf forces were once again lead by Veteran Ace MarcBoomber of the BG Clan who accounted for many a destroyed fighter.

Reports are still being ammassed as to the specifics of the battle but it is well felt that in dealing such decisive blows to the heart of ASF territories that Systems of the CSF may soon be taken back and the people of California and Dublin may be free again.

Reporting from a rear staging area this is PiA_ChiefRedCloud reporting

Further Intell from Veterian Pilot PiA_Jtak

    Stuttgart Captured by CSF!

Tonight as ASF forces reeled from the loss of New Berlin, CSF forces led by {LP}Canoso{X}attacked and captured the Stuttgart system.

In a bold move, CSF forces capitalized on the disarray in ASF forces by launching a full scale assault on this vital system. {LP}Canoso{X}, rapidly gaining a reputation as an astute commander in the brutal conflict with the ASF, pushed his force of two LP and two PiA into battle with the cream of the ASF.

In the early savage exchanges, BG did well, but from the loss of (BG)Scorpion, CSF rallied from behind, and began pushing back the defenders. The gallant fighters of CSF, LPs Shadow and Xenox as well as PiAs Lanky and JtaK just got angry, and fought like demons to oust the defenders. Under this onslaught of deadly fire, the BGs attempt to save the system failed, and BG forces led by MarcBomber and Petrus were forced to retreat.

Tonight the people of Stuttgart poured onto the streets, in a spontaneous demonstration of joy at there liberation. They now join their cousins in New Berlin in tasting once again, freedoms sweet heady wine.

JtaK Reporting for the Times of New London

  • just a little advice; your "cousins" are at the omicrons. When doing these stories remember what that system used to be. They all dont convert to CSF at an instant. When capturing a lawful system you hold hostages, not instant comrades.

  • Baldwin.

Not sure if I should reply here, as I did not post my article here, the Chief however quoted it here, so in for a penny...

My article said the population of Stuttgart joined THEIR cousins in being liberated. Dont bring my cousins into it, my family is Irish, and I have hundreds of cousins. :)

Secondly I was writing an article as a journalist who was friendly to the new government, so there may be a hint of bias in what I wrote, but only a hint. When ASF recapture these two systems, you can conduct an investigation into the accuracy of my report. :)

Shame you could not be there, I would have enjoyed your perspective on the battle, no doubt equally unbiased.

    PiA_JtaK

  • I just meant that the systems population should be seen as what they were. Cause the people of the systems we are fighting over are of the Alliance, not the Confederation. So CSF is taking hostages and ASF is liberating them. :D

  • I take the brunt here in posting, what I found to be a good report. I should have asked for Jtaks's permission first. I did not, sorry M8, intentions were good though.

But it might be a good idea Baldwin if any future corrections are neccissary that MSN or like is used. This way we can allow for any critiquing to be behind closed doors and not open a bad thread. I think we can all use some reflection on what we're doing.

Me I love the way you spin a yarn about the systems and it's history, but some of us are still learning, and so are very ignorent about "cousins". And let me say that I refer to myself when I say "Ignorant", not anyone else. With help and patience of those like you we can get past this. And all have a good time reading each others fiction.

Thx for the whiskey last night and the hospitality.

AS I prepare to save and post this message my 10 year old granddaughter is on her computer next to me playing on the internet. She starts playing a song......"Can't WE All Just Get Along Togather.....". From the mouths and the hearts of chlidren.......

  • Intell is coming in about an incursion of a raiding party into the New Berlin system. Though all the intell is not avaiable at the moment it would seem that at least one ASF raider, believed to be the BG Ace Baldwin, set up a blockade of the Planet New Berlin.

The extent of the damage that he was able to cause is still not known but he did destroy atleast one of our cargo trains. It is evident that with sorties like this the ASF can not be taken forgranted or as weak. They are still a formidable and worthy advisary. All comercial pilots should take heed and be warned. The lanes can be dangerous.

Any sightings should be forwarded to higher commands.
