  • TNT, your prob is (most likely) due to some "works" of your security, AV/Firewall security suite as well as "windows" UserAccountControl.
Setting up security suite (already for the downloaded contend eventually) have a look at FAQs, forth entry : How to configure Norton antivirus for Crossfire mod?
... just to give you an idea how it could be done, even if you dont have NORTON.

Also, already some time ago there were some comments about : "Windows Visual C++ 2005 reditributable" (you might find that in the guide as well).

... and :did you get your hands on a"clean" Freelancer copy ?

  • Do you wish to play SP or MP?
In my case I only play SP. I have to disconnect from the internet before loading 1.9. There's a small file in the Microsoft/Freelancer folder advising the same. You then get no multiplay downloads (obviously) and can only play in SP.

Bugger! :tommy: Just wrote a long post about this but lost it switching to something else before posting. ;(

  • @wombat1940 but ppl here play Crossfire 2.0 ... this works quite different as 1.9 which is no longer supported. 2.0 is more as advised let at least once fully patched once in activated.

  • Has anyone an idea about this ?

Right click My Computer and choose Manage menu
Open System Tools, Event Viewer and Application.
WHen Crossfire crashed there's an event for that.
Open Event and Click the copy to clipboard button.
Reply here and paste information -> right click in message and choose Paste
I uploaded 2 pictures to help you find where to look.

  • I found similar errors regarding screen, especially Windowed mode.
Can you tell which options you use in CF Launcher (mine is attached)
I recommend that you try to run your Windows in full screen (i assume you have a windowed Windows in Parallel) at resolution 1920x1080. Then start CF (don't use Windowed option and Vanilla shader)

  • Hi Silver,

i use windows in full screen. i clicked the Vanilla Shader option and trie again and it collapses again.. should i reinstall the game again and try it?

And i checked the resolution . it is 2560 X 1600 but there is no option like 1920X1080

  • Your screen resolution is 16:10 which should work just fine.

When does it crash exactly ?
If after the video's it is possible that you have incompatible savegames (make a copy and put it somewhere else). That is C:\Users\Your Username\Documents\My Games\Freelancer\Accts\SinglePlayer is empty
