  • Why is the anti-cheat software even so strict anyways? a game from 2003 should never use 100% of my modern CPU... and my fan.. my ears hurt :D

I hate to tell you this but that sounds like your install has a corrupted file that is hanging up your CPU. When mine is running with normal crusing, only 3% of CPU is used and 2 - 4 GB of memory, ramps up to 5% and 5 GB when in big battles but drops off as soon as that is over. Fans idle at 1917 RPM, CPU temp is 40c. Run Task manager and look at processes to find out what is causing the CPU to stay at max or the Resource Monitor of Task Manager. you can see my system specs in sig.

looks like i have started offtopic,

It's a formatted&fresh disk with windows 7 system with a fresh FL and CF installation, with all the newest drivers. And besides, it is a widely accepted fact that the anticheat software is demanding insane CPU power, as i have asked other players what their CPU load is when playing CF. TES V: Skyrim (2011) needs 20-50% of my cpu, Age of Empires II (1999) needs 2-10% while CF needs 100%... i have analyzed the behavior of CF and this is my only conclusion. other (modern and old aswell) games work perfectly fine, i can safely say that the OS and the game itself are not corrupted installations, because i face the same problem on my laptops and other PCs aswell. just wanted to explain this, not that i care about the CPU load since the Frames per second are stable and O.K

  • This happens usually only when you switch accounts when is one from processor cores used for run FL used by 100%. Counting a fact that some players do not hesitate to cheat when only they can, I better want live with more strict anti-cheat, as to face cheaters on CF server like it was happening more and more in 1.9 end. Details how this work is from obvious reasons not public and obviously it also is not so easy set such way that everyone is happy in all situations. If are accounts switched with restarting CF (included launcher), then things runs smooth.

  • fact is, the majority of players dont have problems with the anticheat
next to that am i not able to explain why there are performance spikes

Only dead fish swim with the stream.
Don't discuss with idiots. They only drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience there.

    This is ten percent luck,
    Twenty percent skill,
Fifteen percent concentrated power of will,
    Five percent pleasure,
    Fifty percent pain,
And a hundred percent reason to remember the name!

  • When you switch accounts. Sometimes with 1st switch, sometimes 2-3 and suddenly framerste drops down significantly and if you look how processes use cpu cores, then this core (only this core) using freelancer.exe is going to 100%. You can restart game, wait (more minutes) or manually affilate more cpu cores to fl.exe.
