Hi Guys,

I am using a Kusari Battleship - Navitas with Civilian Turrets, is pretty fine but I am a little disapponted about the mobilityin space ( always hangs with his wings in trade lanes, when there is a small stone between wings and hull then this stone is the immovable object archimedes was alwas searching for ) .

Since buying a new battleship is a very expensive trade, I want to ask for some experience.

At first, are all battleships same in their weapons, meaning 2-4 Torpedos and 8+2 TUrrets? Or is there also some built in weapons like with the Liberty Cruiser?
Second, what about Size? Are there also some smaller ones?

Right now I am thinking about a BorderWorlds Dreadnought - Inquisitor or a Corsair Battleship - Maelstrom. Any experince with this?

Work your way up. In your case start with a BS til u get good at maneuvering with it, then go to DN.

all BS have 350k armor, 2 torps and 8+2 turrets
all DN have 450k armor, 4 torps and 8+2 turrets and are generally bigger and more expensive than BS
Osiris, Liberty Dreadnought - Virginia and Borderworlds Dreadnought - Inquisitor are the easiest to fly. Of these 3, Osiris is smallest and in my opinion the best BS, Liberty dreadnought - Virginia is the best DN in my opinion because it has very good turret placement (all around the ship) and all its torpedos are on the front, which reduces the chance of self killing compared to other DNs which have them mounted further to the back. Also, Osiris and Liberty Dreadnought - Virginia are resistant against cruise disruptors whereas Navitas and Inquisitor are not. Also, Inquisitor has less firepower on the bottom than liberty DN.

May I correct? Iteron BS is also immune to cruise disruptors.

correct, Iteron is also resistant. If you want to get a cheap first BS, Iteron will serve you just fine. However, it is big, so you get stuck in asteroids a bit more quickly than with Osiris, Inquisitor or Virginia. Also, being bigger makes you easier to hit. I have flown an Iteron as my first BS and traded it for a Virginia, which was easier to fly.

Agreed. Osiris served me best of all battleships, especially in Inner Core. Smaller size and better maneuvering than DNs make it perfect against alien fighters

Just small note: With 2.0 is coming imo bigger difference with BD/DR choice and role for this ship. So called "allrounder" may be torn apart very quickly in some moments when is confronted with specialised BS/DR. These ships as also turrets have nice diversity if player will invest his time to check them.

A bigger diversity of buyable ships doesn't change the fact that osiris is currently the best. or... you guys actually plan to release a ship with more than 450k armor, better hardpoints and smaller size than osiris

Sorry, it was small joke ... Yggdrasil is for GRs only (rly nice ship ), there is not planned any change to BS/DR

Thx for the participation. I liked my Liberty Cruiser and also the fact that it is CD proof. What my Navitas is not unfortunately ( but it is 550 Klicks fast).

If the Inquisitor is not CD proof then think will not suit me. Anyone experience with the Corsair Battleship - Maelstrom
or Rheinland Dreadnought - Celestis? Is it really big?

Yes Osiris looks good for now. Anyhow I use it for fun, hunting e.g. CSF Cruisers in X.
How is relation of size between Osiris and Liberty Battleship - Iteron?

Celestis have awesome fire power (except fire below), but alas is really big and shield is not resistant to CDs.

i have the Corsair Battleship - Maelstrom (maybe i'm the only player with one) and i cannot tell u many bad things about it it is a very nice looking BS. yes, it is expensive and no, not CD resistant.

Now I think I get it. When people say "this BS has fat firepower" despite of the number of turrets are same for all, they mean how many of the turrets can be used to fire to the front.
