Op,I have some new questions.
When i first played FL i was hooked at that game
in a second because it reminds me to the old ELITE ( on my amstrad !). Later i had the
chance to find StarLancer but i did not enjoy it maybe because of the military structure of
the gameplay ( and the joystick ! )
If i remember your ship was in funtion of your
progression in the military top. The choise was very limited and upgrades or transfer of
weapons where not possible. Right ?
What are you proposing in SL-R ?
- same
ships with some ajustements but with standard weapons and no swapping of weapons ? ( except
missiles ) [ i think i read that in 1 of your post ! )
- we have no choice of the
ship ( nor armement ) we will use, except those forecast by promotion ?
- how about
the ranking, the missions, the rewards, the extra equipement ( if any ) ?
- shall we
be organized in military units, squadrons with leaders etc ... ? and what about
freelancers ( if any ), what will be their role in the conflict ?
- how to gain
controle over a zone if no pvp ?
- what to compensate the presence of ion cannons
on
one side ?
- shall the importance of the missiles not be to great and spoil
the fun of the fights ?
- who will decide about the missions, with who, where and
WHEN ! ?
- what shall be the influence of the AI in SL-R ? ... only for ennemy ships
( npc) , .... for some missions ... for some unexpected events ?
- how are you
planning to equilibrate the number of players on each side if one side has to much
inscriptions ?
- what is for you the minimum of ppl needed to play SL-R at the start
? ... and on daily bases ?

yes thats how it was
planned
weapons are fixed mounted - only missile launchers can be
bought

you start with a simple shuttle and
do missions until you have enough money for a small fighter
better fighters will be damn
expensive and hard to buy this way

missions can be done to make
money... not much... its also possible trade or loot asteroids
most money can be done by
destroying presetted targets

clans will be organized in a military way...
freelancers are volunteers that will assist the clans with their attacks or support them
behind the lines

i said about destroying objects
(stations or sattelites) to get special equipment or money

station of alliance rogues in SL - it also had an ion cannon

missiles wont be too important in pvps... they are more important for missions or
destroying enemy bases

mainly transports, battleships, missions and a few
fighters guarding special points

dunno yet... but coz of the fact that i only let choosen ppl to the server it should
be possible to control this

I was reading one of
the earlier pages about this game..it dealing with the warp buoies and stuff..
I have
a question. It is mentioned that this will be a much larger mod then CF. CF took me 5hrs to
downLoad. Some of us are simply not hooked up to cable and use dial up...(at the moment)
Doh! Would here possibly be a way we could have a disc sent with the mod burned on it
provided we were willing to pay the cost of doing so?
This might mean i have to wait
a few days for it to arrive, however i wont have my phone tied up for 12hrs trying to
download the mod. This is just a request to see how the idea would fly. This consept looks
really good and i like it. My only consern ...(for myself) is if i will have time to devote
to both CF or SL/R or Both. Each will be a supurb game to play. OP does good work and is a
master a game codeing i can see. Have u thought of creating your own game and just making
money?...lol. Your skills appear to be of such quality that you would be good at it. Hats
off to OP. Well im off to the races..or trade lanes i should say.

ill try to contact argh to help him to find out how to create planets in the original
way... this will reduce the size of SL-R and will make the planets look more
detailed
im not sure if we can make it but ill try the best to find out what the prob

Speaking about planets, are you going to make them super big like the
one in Altair?
The thing that always irritated me was that your a tiny speck on the
planet however in space you'd look like a meteor to those below.
I mentioned it before, but if OP will create(If it
is at all possible) a Gas Giaint in it's [SIZE=4]REALL SIZE[/SIZE]
It'll "weight"

this is one of the new stations which will be part of SL-R (many FL stations will
remain in SL-R because there are not enough station models for
SL-R)
ive done some
changes on the planets (as you can see earth has real clouds now)
i also was able to
compress some
textures
as stated
in the mines concept i was working on making "tactical mines" which dont only do a little
bit damage
the result is this mine
after being dropped it will activate after
30seconds... it will not move so you need to place it infront of jumpgates/stations
it
has a very high damage and explosion range
you can only take a few of them with
you
you will have to stay close to the mines (5k range) because i was not able to prevent
the disappearance
the idea is if you expect an attack of the opposite faction on a
system then you can place a few of those mines infront of the gate
the first opponents
which come through will run into the mines and go boom
this does only work if you play in
a team coz u can only take out a few fighters this way and the others would kill your weak
minerdropper ship without a
problem
in SL-R you will find 6 factions (more is not needed)
