yep fs2open
ok...on it...
I assume that there are many changes on the engine since we started working on this project
Are you creating a new engine like the guys from the Babylon project or just using the open source FreeSpace 2 open???
anyway, installer seems the same but this is the last updates on the files:
FreeSpace2 open ver. 3.6.9
Launcher ver.5.5c
MediaVP ver. 3.6.8
Now if you go with the source code to create an stand alone engine that would a completly new ball game which indeed Im far behind on my skills
i once compiled the source (cant remember that version right now), but it eventually crashed. so it depends if we need new features, that i could integrate, if we want to take the time to find that errors (or sources without such errors).
im also not 100% up to date since the latest working version I used to build the first system and ships was pre-compiled and meanwhile pretty old
well, there are these guys who compiled the complete source code and lot of stuff of their own but when you check the amount of people who worked in the game that was huge (like 40 people) and it took them a long while to get their final stand alone release project. Maybe you know them, the ones from Babylon project which there is a final version (I think it was release september 2008 or close) of 1.8 gigabytes standalone DVD which looks and behave pretty good.
ANyway, my point is that we will indeed going to need to make a good team working on different areas to complete this project.
On another hand, the new FS2open doesnt seem to be buggy if you dont want to do your own compilation...
back to reading, I have a lot of things to check before I start doing some small simulations and practice a little bit before getting into the real deal.

RG
How about some more previews:)?
how about giving me time to work on one project first before i go on with the others?
