CSF has become very weak.

I think more people should join CSF clans

maybe why people dont register: for example me i dont understand about asf and csf. what clans belong to where. what clans fight aginst who. i find no info in faq. and where I AM???

you are a "freelancer" which means that you dont belog to neither sides. you have no clan and ONLY official server clans that own a system can join the CSF / ASF fights
and i dont even know WHO is in CSF or ASF. there are many new clans here, but noone says anything
so far i know only this:

CSF: LP, Fallen, UAC, DC,

ASF: BG, IOC, CFPD,

H5N1 & PHQ are CSF
TRF is ASF (I think)

The gist of the RP is sort of like this if you break it down:

Alliance Star Fleet (ASF): Group representing the old Alliance and dissidents of the Coalition, generally made up of law-abiding police, military, and company pilots who want to maintain order in Sirius, re-unite the Houses into the old Alliance, and pwn the CSF. [angel]

Confederated Strike Force (CSF): Group representing the Coalition and dissidents of the Houses (Alliance), generally made up of radical, terrorist and/or criminal pirates, smugglers, mercenaries, and company pilots who wish to prevent the Alliance's rebirth, undermine the House governments, and pwn the ASF. [96]

There are exceptions to the membership stereotpyes of course, like with how DC and UAC are CSF yet one's police and the other regularly kills pirates, but generally the line is clear-cut on who stands where. Serverclans participate in the RP while freelancers and minor clans cannot (though people not fighting in the conflict may, in all reality, assist their favorite side by aiding pilots with equipment and undertaking acts of espionage if they so chose. Members of the RP must wear ASF or CSF licenses provided by Serverpolice.

A long time ago the RP was quite successful and the two factions would wage grandiose battles over systems. It brought people together for events, promoted leadership from the operators of the factions, and brought clans together for common, large-scale goals. For the past few months it's been sort of dead, but people like Haegar and Centaurian have taken steps to improve the potential of the RP. The point of the RP is a power struggle between the factions which puts up for contest most of the CF systems. If one gains the upper hand and wins enough of the systems (control of a system is taken if a faction kills enough of the other to make a victory obvious), that faction wins and the systems are reset to start over. One side has never won before, largely due to the fact that if one side stops fighting the other can't make progress until it decides to participate again. Maybe I left some things out, but I don't think I missed much. If you have more questions please ask.

@OP: On the CSF page I know that Inferno, Amos, and I are active on the site, but hardly anyone else is there. I agree that people should be registering and using the forum boards, but part of the problem is that Canoso and Privvy, the elected leaders of the group, are no longer active. Do you think we need new representatives to become active or should we just be anarchists until the bosses come back?

supercars: analyzing the system it's fair to say that the ASF appplies both to Sirius and Altair. The Coaltion only exists in Altair though, and the CSF in Sirius is its equivelent. Since the RP will never evolve to the point where the winning faction has to continue its campaign (either Alliance vs Coaltion or Governments vs Criminals), the ASF and CSF technically do not represent the Houses and Coaltion, but are rather syndicates of them. Since you partake in Coalition RP though, you'd either want peace with the Houses and are neutral to the conflict or strongly pro-CSF imo.

T-R-F is not ASF and imo should goto CSF, to keep the fights balanced.

if there could be a ranking or tabulation or points how get more strong or more sys or a list or a thermometer how is asf and csf or coalition witch is updated maybe by week or day its would be good for understanding and motivation. And maybe too i could decide if i wont to join somebody and who.

Because until now i am just confused about all the clans but i am interested to join somebody, but difficult to deside. I think for other freelancers its the same.

That ranking already exists. People should actually be using the launcher for more than just launching the game.....
