Pando Media Booster is downloaded and installed to your computer when you install STO. After some research, I have discovered that PMB is actually a BIT TORRENT CLIENT. So, if you install STO and have PMB running after the install [which it does by default to the startup menu of Windows] and you do not remove the STO install files, then your computer will upload the STO files back out to other new users anytime your computer is connected to the internet.
This won't have much affect on users with premium unlimited internet connections but not everyone has that. Here in Canada, the major internet providers have caps. I've just returned from Zen'ya's place after checking on a possible virus on her computer [it was constantly uploading]. Turned out to be PMB uploading the STO install files to others. Not a problem for unlimited internet but she just got a bill for last month and incurred 80 dollars in overage charges [over and above her regular internet bill].
I suggest removing or moving the install files after STO is finished installing and/or uninstalling Pando Media Booster [it's not required after the install]. If you have a cap on your internet or you are seeing your computer constantly uploading something after installing STO, then you need to get rid of PMB.
