Black Market Goods price issue - a public report

    Hello!


    Today Riebens and me came across a contradiction in BMG prices concerning the day-lasting extra-profitable route, namely Classified Artifact Reports from Trafalgar Base (New London system) to Bautzen Station (Dresden system).
    I had the buy price of $8000 and sell price of $20000, while Riebens' ones were $7800 and $11700.


    We both docked at Bautzen and made a simultaneous screenshot to prove our words. The screenshot shows time and price, I also captured the price at Trafalgar shown in the trade routes tab.


    Mine is attached below, Riebens' one is in the next post.


    OP-R8R: please say which price is valid for today. I'm not using the ticket system because this problem is not server-side, and it may concern more players. Please tell what data to sumbit about our client configuration to help you find out what causes this contradiction.


    P.S. My Freelancer folder is not write-protected ("read-only" attribute manually removed from all files and folders inside) so the updates must work correctly, otherwise I wouldn't even know there are such daily BMG routes.
    First of all, I asked Riebens to uncheck the read-only attribute of his Freelancer data files - and it didn't help.

    Now that really is dynamic, even different for each player O.o


    I doubt that prices are autogenerated like asteroids and such (which are different for each one, like the case of mega roids), so, dunno.

    In this case he couldn't have launched multiplayer.

    @MortenS: yes, that route disappeared after the server restart.. An ion storm has mixed up all the commodities, so the prices have changed. :verrueckt:


    @OP: what can one do to ensure that his game updates correctly?

    make sure that nothing in FL is write protected

    Indeed, why doesn't anti-cheat work when players sell commodities at wrong prices?

    The server side one should.




    But first, have you done (checked) what OP said ? We're speaking for nothing out here if "write only" thing is not the case.

    I am very sad at the response this thread has gotten.


    We did do the basic and some advanced checks to eliminate problems or find source of problems before posting here in the hope that some MEANINGFULL alternatives are suggested.


    BOTH Initial posts say we have alredy made sure about the read/write attributes on the files.

    Everyone please make a screenshot of Stolen Industrial Secrets' price list and post it here. This will allow us to see how many people are getting incorrect updates.

    I could not post my screen shot, probably because i am doing something wrong, however it shows the price as 14640 and the screen shot is timed today at 15:47.
