i was discussing with robbers that having a policing aspect to 13th would be nice.

is it possible to have a mercanary/police clan?

No it is not.
You can not have two different RP's within a clan.
Only one RP which applies to the whole clan. Mercenary / Police / Pirate or Smuggler.
Mixing is not allowed. But you could be mercenary and only accepting lawful offers from anyone. Which would be your own decission.
But having this policy would be contrary with collecting bounties, since killing others for money (collecting bounties) is considered a criminal action -

No it isn't...
Maybe crime is the "wrong" word but according to the RP-definition
Piracy – The police may also fine characters for acts of piracy or being a known pirate (having a Pirate Syndicate Licence mounted). Acts of piracy include attacking ships (except know pirates) for profit (collecting bounties) or fun.
source Section 2C open role play rulescollecting bounties, which is nothing else than killing someone for cash, is an act of piracy and therefor criminal, which would be contrary to the "we only accept lawful offers"-policy
and please don't start another RP-discussion

I don't think those RPs would exactly mix. Only dual clan so far is the IOC, merc/smuggler combination.
-
No, IOC is merc/trader clan, smugglign is not part of their options.
And as "trader" is not a real RP, but more of an action allowed for any other RP, it's not mixing RPs.
-
soooo i cant have any policing chars, so if i see a guy taxing people or i fancy doing some policeing, i cant. well thats unfortunate. i would have liked to do mercanary contracts AND general law enforcement
-
It's as it should be. One or the other... else, everyone could smuggle while being cops and etc of other unreal mixes.
Choose wisely
-
horatio you could be a merc employed by police^^
-
The license is only the first part, only you decide HOW you play your role

No, IOC is a smuggler clan. At some point in IOC history, IOC was allowed to wear merc tags for defence. But now that one clan - one tag rule is enforced, IOC is back to what it originally was,,,a smuggler clan. If you see me in space, you'll see all my ships now carry smuggler tags.
Besides, before 1.9, no one used the word smuggling. Everyone called it trading. For example: "Hey Rex, can I enter Casius for purpose of trading Station Blueprints?" No one ever asked permission to enter Casius for smuggling. So, before smuggling liscence was required, it was really trading.

I see. Cool, apologies for my mistake.

ok new roleplay thing for me
horatio, a merc hired by SFP-robbersdog to "get dem darn criminals" as he would put it, now patrols with a police licence and a merc licence depending on how hes felling =P

In that case, don't be surprised if people assume worst-case scenario, when seeing you around.
And act on that assumption. -

-
In fact, yes, I do. It's only logical...
Say, I'm protecting a smuggler - I will assume Horatio is on patrol in cop mode and wants to scan my, um, client?
Or, I have a bounty on me, or a mate has bounty on him, and there's an incoming Horatio - I will assume he's there for the bounty. In both cases I could be wrong, of course, but I'll be ready, and evasive actions will be taken.

That's what im talking about
-
SFP-robbersdog ?
Now THAT's outdated
