First of all! This is not meant to be offensive or in an instulting way to anyone.
Let me tell you a little story.
I first got introduced to the CF-Community back in the year 2006 by the former BG_Sanny (who is not active anymore)
New game, new people to play with, new excitement, new story, just new things to keep the own life out of boredom.
I got told how things are working on the server and in the forum and also figured out stuff by myself by PAYING ATTENTION to certain things!
Month and years passed by and I literally worked my way up from a simply almost unrecognized Freelancer via being a well hired Freelancer (depending on my role) and finaly becoming a proud clan member.
Since Im not that rich that I could support the whole thing financially, with hundrets of bucks each month (as I would like to do) I offered my help wherever I could (and can) to support Crossfire the way I can affort it.
And now Im here. A moderator at this community as well a GR-representativ of the clan, I am a member of.
I am pretty active on the server. For once to play this game myself and second to help people when they have problems which need to be solved or encounter some sort of trouble.
I really do NOT mind to help others. Otherwise I would be totally misplaced within the position I am.
But what I really do NOT understand is the following thing.
Nearly EVERYONE knows exactly what keeps the community and the server alive.
Nearly EVERYONE is able to bring their part into it, in order to support AND have fun the same time.
Nearly EVERYONE is able to help and therefor it does NOT matter how big or what sort of help it is.
But instead is this comming up:
Almost every day I literally get faced with crap, dumbness, ignorance, egoism, arrogance and much more.
- a thread is made in the forum, which might contain points who are not fitting everyones point of view - People start jumping on it and messing up as much as they can
- a situation occurs on the server and a responsible is stepping in BEFORE it escalates - The one who steps in, gets attacked, insulted, offended and whatnot
- PERSONAL opinions getting posted which might not please the one or the other - the opinion of the others do NOT get accepted as such, but attacked immediately (including instults, offenses and harrassments)
- roleplay is being practised on the server the way the player interprets it (which is totally fine) - others immediately try to stop this player by telling him some rules they appearently did NOT even understand themself correctly, just because they do NOT like it the way the player does perform HIS role
- things are being discussed/noted via PM on the forum - others do immediately drag that information into public, for what reason ever
- people do NOT get their opinion recognized or put on task immediately - they start ranting about everything what does not please them
- people do NOT understand what the other is actually telling/meaning in some posts - without asking how its being meant or what it means, they start shooting back with everything they have
- people pretend to know exactly whats right - but acting like fools, not knowing anything about and making an arse out of themself and others
- people showing up once or twice a month but pretending to know everything whats going on
- people expecting help immediately no matter in what situation the asked person is right at that moment - if no help is available/no response is comming right on it gets dirty.
- people ignoring rules on the server (on purpose) and threatning others if they remind them of the existing rules, just because they fight better or they are long-term-members
- people getting offensive as soon its going against their own view, either in the forum and/or on the server
Do you really think it's fun for anyone having to deal with that almost every day?
Do you really think it's making the community and the server getting more and more popular, in a positiv way?
Do you really think THOSE POINTS (mentioned above) are NOT the reason why people left?
Do you really think acting that way will keep people on here and also bring even more new people?
Do you really think you are such high educated persons that you can act the way you do and there is nothing wrong with it?
Do you really think that you are any help, support or even some sort of enrichment for the whole community and the server?
Sorry for interrupting you and for putting some disturbing words right infront of your precious eye balls.
But I just needed to say it, since it is bugging me (and Im sure a lot of others) since a long time.
There is also NO NEED to respond or rip that thread appart.
Just take a little time and THINK ABOUT it. And if you do NOT understood whats written, read it a second (or third or fourth time) if necessary.
