It is u n00b go to youtube (i uploaded today so u know...)
actually I think they didnt jump more than ususal.
You were actually lucky, I've been down there with Firedragon and they jumped like wild rabbits all over the place. Way worse than in that video
Yeah, i know like in ur event they jump around like arbbits literally...but if u take a better look in this vid and u shall see a short but quick like mini jumps, which make ur eyes and brain cry after 30 min you simple don't know what and where to aim
but yes i were lucky this day...and this is same for me since 1.8 starts. When i am alone they do not jump like that and SA Riebens said that this can be my graph card issue, so i am willing to find out the reason which is behind jumping.
I saw that "small" jumps everytime you start hitting them with guns.
but thats one thing which is always there for me, when Im down there.
And my graphic is a gForce GTS450, my connection 26MBit (by mostly 12Mbit DLspeed) ping average is 25 0 0.
and those npc's still jump
Graphics card wont make them jump like that. Memory timing could.
Edit: Looking at your specs, your memory timing should be 6-6-6-18 and set around 2.10 volts minimum. Your motherboard will play a factor in how it peforms, depending on how your pipes are set (FSB), which I assume is 1333mhz minimum with a max of 1600mhz. Also with Nvidia and due to your lower video ram, you should have your CPU set to carry part of the graphics load. While you are at it, try turning up your pagefile to 12288 and see what happens. Also if you have a second HDD, turn your pagefile off on the main HDD and relocate it to the secondary.
Let me know what happens and we can go from there.
I get similar jumping IC ships (if not worse) on my machine. I'm running a 955 BE, 1gig Sapphire HD 6850, 8 gig corsair ram etc. Runs my other games and all other parts of the mod flawlessly. My net connection is 8meg adsl (and I've checked im getting full speed) and im based in Scotland so my connection to the server is pretty fast being nice and close (ping in the 50s). So I'd really be suprised if this was caused by a hardware issue personally. I'm sure I read somewhere OP talking about it being a server side issue; people connected to the server while downloading or with high pings or lots of Battleships being used at the time being prime suspects.
Still, glitches can be caused by all sorts so do go ahead and follow Gunny's suggestions. If anything it will help narrow down the root cause.
Other useful info might be the number of players on at the time this is happening and if you see any relation in population and the severity of the problem. Also note the number of BSs online at the time if you see any known ones. You could also try running Fraps for the framerate monitor (not recording) so you see if there are any drops while you're fighting. I know some effects in this game can have an odd effect on my FPS, primarily the Tractor Beam effect when you are tractoring in multiple objects will cause a very brief drop in framerate with my system. Maybe this is a similar phenomenon.
I hope you manage to sort it. Ill be watching this topic to see what, if any, conclusions are reached.
try disabling the adv shader with shift+f12
ive had similar jumps in singleplayer tests with specific settings
Interesting if they jump cus of PC isntead of server/connection for some people... on my old table PC with 128 Mb Graphic Card and less than 1 Gb RAM they were going just fine, except server side issues. But I knew how to setup CF for it lol
On the one I use now I still use some quality stuff on high (not max) and gloom with shaders off to be sure I'll have no issues with load(timing) and lag.

and why not giving some suggestions what he could do to minimize the "jumping" if you 'know how to set up' ??
Because OP gave one of the usual main reasons, also as I don't know their PCs and what installation problems they have, as WIndows itself brings soem problems if it has incorrect addons, wrong installed ones (by orders), if it's cracked or if it's old and not defragmented or never cleared and reinstalled, etc, to tell exactly what to do. Only "guesses" as OP did.
And usually the best way is to uninstall all CF, use CCleaner on Registries and reinstall CF with less "optional addons" like blur/gloom or shaders, or low card compatibility... etc.
