And also that IOC have allied clans who can defend their home system

Michael, the question of vardek is not about who owns Casius or who can defend it.
I think his major problem is, that his ship was NOT entering, even the -magical voice- told him 'access granted'

this granted, or denied you hear is just the confirming that you are about to dock at the certain gate. It even tells you the same, when you dock on TL's
your docking problem might be that you are (I assume) on the run with a Cap-ship (BS, Destroyer or whatever)
which makes it a bit more difficult to dock on gates and lanes. you will have to be either, exactly in the middle (best is, you fly in cocpit-view (with the cocpit actually disabled)) to manage this.
or you simply start the docking sequence while you are a bit further away from the prefered gate/lane, you want to dock.
usually it works when you start the sequence while your meter tells you that you are 20 - 10 meter away from your object (in cockpit view) (at least it works for me)

I think that the IOC set up an invisible barrier...>_>

access granted means not allowed - huh? since when is this up side down?

oddly enough i had the 'upside down' idea in my mind, forget i said anything
