Freeworlds is good but still has to show its value
I personally would prefer say that Igiss with discovery is better than Freeworlds as he is working on a Freelancer mod and not on a Starwars mod based on the Freelancer engine. -> there is a damn big difference between those
there are about 500million starwars fans on this planet... and probably just 10.000 ppl which care about FL
Mods such as Discovery or CF or other mods based on FL (as the game that it is) are successful due to their quality and not because half of the planets likes some movies.
Freeworlds comes in my eyes with some very good changes and a big load of serious mistakes. I highly doubt to see a successful FW server anytime soon... or ever.
What Freeworlds is good at is running PR campaigns and presenting pre-rendered ship models (which i also could do).... and of course the dx9 conversion which still doesnt look better than what other modders can do with dx8 and a few workarounds/adjustments.
And no I am not the best modder. Something like that does not exist.
Everyone has specialities or is good at something.
I am an allrounder being able to do almost everything, except coding (where others have much more experience). There are also much better moddelers. Im probably best with conventional modding, error fixing and graphics... but that is just a part of modding.
But thats just my personal opinion. If i want to play Starwars I install a Starwars game which has more to offer than a Starwars mod.
