In CF 1.7 you also had to use the 1.1 patch which was about Universal server's connection or visibility...

No patch is necessary. All necessary patches are already part of the Crossfire installation. Any further patching would probably make your mod more instable and perhabs cause some crashes as well.
So please use the mod the way we offer it here. Everything that is needed comes along with the download. -
