  • The Galactic Racing Championship is the first in its kind for space racing. This interstellar cup will take place on the most dangerous but marvelous courses where adrenaline and excitement will await. Everyone with a ship can compete, either for a single race or for the championship ! See rules below !

ROUND 1 - The Royal GP (Space start)

Sign-up form (please use the Calendar event signup feature to register in the championship. Include the required fields in the Message box when you signup. Thank you !)
    Racer name :
    Racer ship :
    Team Name (Optionnal) :

    Rules :

    • Allowed ship classes : LF, HF, VHF.Allowed thrusters : Any.
    • Allowed shields : Any (but not the invincible starflier startup shield). NPCs are to be able to shoot you if they are hostiles. Its part of the thrill of space racing.
    • Allowed weaponry : None, except for defense against NPCs.
    • To complete the course systems have to be reached in the sequence order as they are indicated on the calendar (1 -> 2 -> 3 not 1 -> 3 -> 2).
    • Using Jump Holes or Jump Gates doesn't matter.
    • When a [checkpoint] is specified, the racer has to DOCK on the base to mark the checkpoint.
    • When a target system is reached. racer must report position to EM to be cleared. EM will reply to confirm.
    • There are 2 starts types : Space and land. In the first type, the racers all stay in a line near the starting location and engage at the EM's signal. On land start, every racer will launch from a base or planet with the EM signal. Jump starts will cause a 30 secs penalty added at the racer's total time (which really decides who wins).
    • To participate in the event, racers must be on the EM's group channel for the whole duration of the race. Any disconnection from the group may result in disqualification.
    • In case of server crash/reboot, race will be either cancelled or rescheduled on the EM's decision. The decision will be announced on the SWAT forum. To start a race, a minimum of 4 ships is required.
    • Teams can compete in the their championship by engaging 2 pilots whose points will count for the team's points.
    • The Teams Champion is determined by the biggest point total of a team's pilots.
    • The Racer Champion is determined by the biggest point total of an individual pilot.
    • Points are awarded at each race as follow :
      • 1st = 10 points
      • 2nd = 6 points
      • 3rd = 4 points

Only dead fish swim with the stream.
Don't discuss with idiots. They only drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience there.

    This is ten percent luck,
    Twenty percent skill,
Fifteen percent concentrated power of will,
    Five percent pleasure,
    Fifty percent pain,
And a hundred percent reason to remember the name!

Well thx, OP i already noticed that up ! The event is already in the calendar with the signup activated... I'll update my copy/pasted text to fit with the actual way of signing-up. Its a nice feature you got OP !

I'm not sure i understand your question m8 but i'll explain all in detail :

    2 types of start :

Space : pilots will align in space in a specific location and i will make a countdown and give the start by shooting in from on the ship line. When the bolt passes in front of you you may go ! Simple.
Land : pilots are all landed on the same planet. There wont' be any countdown but i'll give a warning saying that the starts will be given in max 10 secs. This will allow ppl to GUESS the start time (at much risk) by leaving the planet surface before the GO and get fews seconds of advantage on those who waited to be sure the start is given. In short, when its a land start, you can choose to take a chace to give 10 or 15 secs on the others and risk to be penalized 30 secs for jumping the start or remain prudent. To judge if the start is jumped, i simply check if the pilots appears in space before or after i said GO... Launching rings allow multiple ships at the same time (a docking ring allows only one at a time) so it won't penalized the slower ones either. If i included the word base, i'm sorry i'm not even sure it won't queue us if we all launceh from a base so there won't be any jsut to be sure. Only LAND and SPACE starts.

All starts will be filmed and i'll be able to judge after the event if there was a jump start (in case its not evident).

Well since this event is inspired by my passion for F1 World Championship and that their schedules are changing... i'll make mine variable as well.... It should be alternating between 1500UTC (1600 SERVERTIME, 1100 EDT) and 1800UTC (1900 SERVERTIME, 1400 EDT). Sorry if i cannot be more flexible on the schedules, its because it has to fit with my son's napping times (mornig nand afternoon) :)

When baby sleeps, daddy host the events ! That's it !

    ARROW out-

  • 1900 SERVERTIME, 1400 EDT is much better. This week I am alas whole day out-of my PC, so I hope next week I will participate this race.

  • If I manage, I'll come too, but I can't guarantee attendance... :/
