im a modder, not a coder
the source code is absolutly useless for me -
hmmm right... my bad , but who knows.. it could be useful for some freelance codders , indie game producers or something simillar . Ofc MS see that they make such games , they will demand some money for it , but if those are free to download and no money are making from them...

OP if you r making new systems then please place them in the Andromeda sector(galaxy) or some other galaxy like that. i would not mind another alien race in andromeda which destroy the DK or it could be the REAL home of the DK
is ther another active alien race in the mod? If not, then what is kraken in the short stories? -

Well i thought of a few things:
(1)We should have Nanobots Mk2 ans shield battery mk2 and mk3 versions of both which not only repair repair more but mk3s can repair EVERYTHING from hull to guns.
(2)humans find out they were actually supposed to be what Nomads are to the Dom'Kavash. Slaves....but we are now on the brink of becoming much more powerful than them and now they are here to destroy us. All alien races were just to distract us and keep us vulnerable and now we fight them.They are here to destroy everything. -

humans find another dimensional rift which takes them to Andromeda galaxy......
of not bots then repair drones. and shield chargers(comlpetely new things for the engine) -

I don't know if anyone posted this, but how about malfunctioning wormholes and jumpgates?
Not in the sense that they don't work, but they don't take you where they're supposed to. Imagine, you're jumping from Hudson to Texas via wormhole, you enter at Hudson, but instead of exiting in Texas, you end up in the middle of Omega 5 next to Cambridge wormhole. Or worse, you exit somewhere in Jokusuka or Venn...
The story could be some phase variance in 5-dimensional frequencies or something along those lines.

i would like to see more variety in 1.9
atm all the "equal" ships have similar or outright identical stats,there are only few types of worthwhile equipment and guns,etc etci would love to see more types of weapons (beams plz
) with different refire rates and hull/shield damages, more shields (buffer types,recharge types,mixed types) etc
also adding upgrade equipment would be nice,with a drop chance from certain NPCs (remember TNG mod anyone?)i say we have too much balance right now, screw it and go for variety
with certain modifications and upgrades,ships could become more specialized and make the whole game more colorfuland one last thing...
GUNS
all FL guns are zippy lasers, add us some heavy cannons and gatlings with the appropriate loud roaring sounds -

I think you just summed up, in one sentence, why there are 100 times more single players than multi-players.

I disagree, there is already plenty of variety in Crossfire, but the kicker is that it's mostly balanced, something I've come to appreciate after playing some of the most unbalanced and fly-by-night mods out there for Freelancer over the years.
Here are some other aspects to consider as well, the server is still in beta testing and until it ends you won't see as many players and they will most likely continue to play single player until then. Also, they may not have the connection to play online effectively,(dialup) but are still able to download and play the mod. Sadly, some people just don't like to play Freelancer on multi-player servers either. I know this because I remember being one of them years ago.
Yea, people can be rather anti-social at times, sometimes I can't blame then.
I suspect these are far more logical conclusions to why there are possibly much more CF 1.8 single players than multi-players out there.

let me rephrase it then,not "less balance" but "more specialization"
the ships are too similarand one more thing,IMPORTANT thing
i just got a kusari destroyer,and im having a hard time docking anywhere even when the station has a moor point
please fix capital ship docking
if its not supposed to dock somewhere,just remove the option to dock there,dont make poor sods like me get stuck every time they try -
Capital ships dock only on mooring fixtures, and the only stations with those are Crossfire Docks 1 & 2. And maybe some other station I missed. Otherwise, only planets have those.
Capital ship docking on stations would also mean trains get to dock everywhere, resulting in trade superroutes.

the "shipyard" stations could get their mooring fixtures or get the mooring points fixed,and it wouldnt even hurt if they wouldnt sell any trade goods worth mentioningyou have to admit that shipyards not being able to accomodate capital ships is ridiculous
on other concerns about capital ships, i think they should be made more like capital ships
since now im driving a kusari destroyer,i can tell you that based on its defensive capabilities, i would classify it as a frigate at best,maybe even just a corvettecapital ships are built to last, not blow up after 30 seconds of combat
edit: i dont mean make them invulnerable bringers of death,i mean make them virtually untouchable by fighters,vulnerable to bombers,and pain in the arse to hit small targets with them
