Only dead fish swim with the stream.
Don't discuss with idiots. They only drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience there.

    This is ten percent luck,
    Twenty percent skill,
Fifteen percent concentrated power of will,
    Five percent pleasure,
    Fifty percent pain,
And a hundred percent reason to remember the name!

  • it's fustrating to me to see that Crossfire gets in the top 100 of Moddb "Mod of the Year" but the discovery server is always full. although i haven't played the discovery mod myself (it had big issues with my pc), i've been told by many players that they have wierd rules and the players take the game WAY too serious.

SFP has a blog page that is still under construction but am willing to add a page for RP stuff and stories.

i've gone to other gaming websites and put crossfire's name out there (of course, to include SFP). i'll continue to visit various sites as i find them and continue to put crossfire out there. i hope it helps. any other help you need from me, let me know.

  • I've posted this thought on a different thread, but it stands out as being the fundamental step to keeping Freelancer alive and well.

Keep the Single Player improvements coming! Single Players become Multi-Players. As the young folks (under 30) get acquainted with Freelancer and its Mods in Single Player, they will find a Multi-Player Mod that suits them. Or, they will continue to download the Single Player mods and be closet Freelancers.

As long as they keep playing SP or MP, Freelancer will continue. Some Mods need to die to make room for others. Once you've made it to the top of Mount Everest, who wants to go there ten more times? Why? New mods, new ideas and NEW PLAYERS is what we need.

New players don't start in multiplayer. Some do, but the most of us do not.

Give us more Single Player action and see what happens. Reap what you sow!

Single Player is the seed of Freelancer's future.

  • I agree with Franco. For years I simply played vanilla FL and then modded versions of the game in SP. The key to getting players new to Freelancer is for SP to be so excellent that if/when they do log onto the server it's everything they expected and hoped it would be.

24/7 SWAT CF veteran from sometime before 1.6 up into 1.82. Lots of memories!
Built 88 chars between DC, BD, UAC,
STC, and freelancers. Ashes to ashes, alas? D:

  • I've read the comments and just a thought how hard would it be to add a new campain to the game that starts after the vanila campain ends? I beat the nomads Am I not the head order agent in liberty there just has to be more?

    Just a Thought

  • There are/was some Projects around to widen the SP Campaign.

http://www.moddb.com/mods/phoenix-rpg-mod (dunno, sounds like a SP add too)

Two of the Projects are german ones.

If you know something about scripting, a good editor and have plenty of time or a team it can be done. You´ll find all the needed downloads here at SWAT.
