huor already excluded the stuff that should not be in there
Oh, thanks for telling me, so I would not continue to work on the topic for a few more days!
So now what? Shall I tell Adoxa to forget about the keystroke launch because you cannot be bothered to communicate with people who try to help you?
And you wonder why you get flamed by normal people?!
-
i dont get flamed by normal ppl, just by idiots which put personal feelings over facts
you can tell adoxa whatever you want, i am out of TSP and wont return until they finally realized that they are not the only active community out there
-
i dont get flamed by normal ppl, just by idiots which put personal feelings over facts
Oh, you get flamed by normal people. Often enough.
In case you were wondering, this is an example of one of those times when you were the person who did not "get it".
-
what i get is that "normal" ppl would listen and doing improvements instead of starting a flame war (and causing troubles to the FL community in general)
so a fairly big part of ppl at TSP does not fall into the category "normal"what i also get is that i actually dont want anything from them (anymore), my FL is running great without widescreen and for sure i dont have a problem with any missing interfaces
next to that i get pretty well that the first critics i voice about that plugin will be used against me (again)normal are the ppl which visit and contribute at SWAT, normal are ppl like the onces which do the same at FLC, normal are the ppl on a growing part of the FL community which have started to do their own work far away from every trouble that they experiences on communities just like TSP. These ppl can give critics and they can take critics without that a flame war starts, without that somebody goes on a personal vendetta and without any feelings are getting hurt.
I contributes to the FL community for many years, helped where others were not willing to help and shared my knowledge with others. For some time i did it even at TSP and then I stopped when i noticed that nothing comes back. They expect that everybody supports TSP and does what they dictate... never they have supported us at SWAT, never they have contributed to us, never they took care what the FL community outside of TSP wants or needs.
TSP is nothing than a 2nd TLR... they act in the same way, the hide the truth in the same way, they lie in the same way and they break their own rules just like they want. Hey i mean... why should i trust ppl which claim that the FL community is not loosing players -> the TSP leaders have done it in 2009. In 2007 i was able to take a screenshot with 1000 players on multiplayer servers. In 2009 the TSP guys claimed that the 500 (in 2009) would always have been the normal number all the years back and that this number does not change. Thats a difference of 50% (due to some stupid ppl which claimed "the GLS will never shut down" -> the current TSP admins). All the server which had to shut down during that time did obviously never exist. And even today they would claim that the numbers are still stable at 2010 (eventhough another 20% of players has gone)If there wouldnt be adoxa, TSP would be a dead place coz any real constructive discussion about modding or FL does not happen that often over there. New modding based concepts have not been released for ages (as i was able to see when i visited that place 2 weeks ago).
Communities such as TSP can be glad that other communities such as SWAT is getting new players to FL every year by attending the MOTY and by getting a TOP position at the awards.
So to sum up... i got alot of what is going on and staying away from TSP is the best that could happen to the SWAT Portal as we have made much more progress here than it would have been possible together with them.
Yeah... thats what i got
IF TSP surprisingly decides to care about other public FL communities, probably even cooperate with them... then they for sure know where to find me. If not... then good.
I was here almost 11 years ago and will still run a successful community when TSP is long gone. -
Just a sentence for TSP: I visit it quite often - perhaps i can learn something from there. I don't know what is going on there behind the curtains and i am not interested - but i fairly respect what other contribute there too. FlHooking related and improving game graphics and other stuff is always good - no matter if it looks good afterwards or not. All that count on me is that the person who dealt with a particular topic has learned something for themselves. About the rest - what was once upon a time at TLR and now is on TSP i have no clue - that's why i leave such topic there where they are^^
Back to topic - i already wrote that i suggested the same Bullwinkel. And i just suggested the same because i would probably be able to alter the dll for SWAT needs ;D
Just in case you want to add something useful (i didn't yet fully understand about that keystroke thing) - i have an open ear for ya. -
i didn't yet fully understand about that keystroke thing
There is a situation that can happen in widescreen mode, after loading a saved game, that displays a base without the top menu. Freelancer's first rendering of the page happens at 4:3 aspect ratio, even with jflp.dll. All that is required to correct the aspect ratio is to launch. Once in space, jflp is able to correct the aspect ratio for the duration of the session.
The player must launch but is unable to launch because the top menu is not visible. The player becomes stuck at the base.
The proposed solution is to add a keystroke to launch: Pressing F3 (while at a base) will launch.
(BTW, TSP is the best Freelancer modding site on the 'Net. Don't let OP's irrational (and largely incorrect) rant discourage you!)

Huor
what do you have learned? That they actually have no idea about crash offsets? That i fixed those offsets in just a few weeks while they are still tapping in the dark?
I wont discredit good work being done by some ppl there... but i also wont praise ppl doing crap work or ppl which have caused damage.Bullwinkle
irrational? incorrect?
you dont even know what you are talking about, you have no idea happened and what ppl did
but please... you are free to correct my statements with facts (if you have some)
last time someone from TSP made claims against me (that was mr FF) i showed that his words were nothing but liesfacts dont appear to have a meaning for some ppl from TSP as long they can make opinions
and no matter how much you prove one of them wrong... they simply switch the topic start going personal (which actually is the confirmation that they are wrong as they run out of valid arguements)irrational is how you started to turned this thread into such a crap and how you for no reason start to attack me in such a way
QuoteAnd you wonder why you get flamed by normal people?!
QuoteIn case you were wondering, this is an example of one of those times when you were the person who did not "get it".
irrational is how you make claims like
Quote(BTW, TSP is the best Freelancer modding site on the 'Net. Don't let OP's irrational (and largely incorrect) rant discourage you!)
which belittles every other FL modding community including SWAT
for your personal information... just so you know... if people dont get an answer at TSP then they come to me.... that much about the "best FL modding site" (which took 3 months to publish a CF video, that much about fairplay in the FL community)Quote
[21:10] FriendlyFire|WT: why not simply make TLR some kind of "host" for server websites?
[21:15] FriendlyFire|WT: we have Option 1
[21:15] FriendlyFire|WT: which makes TLR a "hub"
[21:15] FriendlyFire|WT: with servers linking to it
[21:16] FriendlyFire|WT: yes, we need to unite
[21:16] FriendlyFire|WT: we can do even better
[21:16] FriendlyFire|WT: we could make LR some kind of superhost for servers
[21:17] FriendlyFire|WT: servers would have full control over the layout and content of their website
[21:17] FriendlyFire|WT: it's not just adding TLR to the server name
[21:18] FriendlyFire|WT: we'd have to unite under a single forum, single website
[21:18] FriendlyFire|WT: if you wanted to have that TLR callsign
[21:26] FriendlyFire|WT: THERE IS A POSSIBILITY
[21:31] FriendlyFire|WT: and I think Haven and EOA could benefit too from becoming a sub-part of LR
this is from the last TLR meeting back in 2007 (i have just copied FFs posts)
When talking about facts and reason for the troubles between the communities it should be said that FF was and is a EOA member, Louva_Deus which took control over TLR at that time was EOA leader and wodk4 (which is currently TSP admin too) were the ones pushing the idea that ALL FL communities HAVE TO give up their sites, their servers, their projects and hand it over to exactly those guys which are in charge of TSP today.
That would have been the death for every independent FL community at that time.
It of course would have meant that those guys have full power of the entire FL community. No room for different opinions.
Just as he said .... EOA would benefit from it... in other words they would benefit from it.Quote
[21:52] SWAT_OP-R8R: sorry was afk
[21:52] SWAT_OP-R8R: so what happened during the meeting?
[21:53] SWAT_OP-R8R: aha
[21:53] SWAT_OP-R8R: any details?
[21:54] SWAT_OP-R8R: so actually we keep LR alive and nothing else has been discussed?
[21:55] SWAT_OP-R8R: O_o
[21:55] SWAT_OP-R8R: and what is with those that dont want to be part of LR?
[21:56] SWAT_OP-R8R: sry - but at least 2 servers wont
[21:56] SWAT_OP-R8R: i didnt build up everything to join another page
result of this statement was that i was muted by mr FF (so much about having different opinions, truth and freedom of speech)what else is to be said... oh probably that it was me who convinced other communities to stay independent, it was the SWAT Portal which supported new communities just like FLC and of course it was me which tried to keep TLR running and bringing it back under "better conditions" when those guys mentioned above did not get what they wanted and turned their back towards TLR
It is also to be said that SWAT has become target of hackers because of TSP and that the guy which attacked us during that time is a TSP member today.
Of course it is not true that TSP did never support other independent FL communities out there. They did start to support Reactorforge. That FL community died not long after this "support/cooperation" has started. So if you think that what i am saying is not correct you can try to prove me wrong, but you should be aware that ill simply dig out a log or screenshot making you look like a fool. I have a very good memory and an even better log archive.
And these so called "irrational" rants have pretty rational backgrounds. But hey... if you like it over there and you can live with admins that break their own rules... you are free to go and stay there.
-
Well, each one with another world as it seems.
Even I don't have much to say, I'd like that this ends in friendly supports instead of taking it personally.... in a bad way.
-
i have supported these guys for many years and it was paid back with alot of backstabbing and troubles for the SWAT community
not a "thank you" for the stuff ive done, not a "sorry" for the troubles they have causes, not even admitting their own mistakes over the past yearssupport or cooperation under such conditions is not acceptable
-
I'm not rlly reffering aobut cooperation with outside communities yet....
just cooperation and support in this same community, it's members
-
i dont think that there have been any problems at all inside SWAT
-
I was wondering if widescreen support had been implemented with the CF1.82 release, or if it had been put aside for any reason (I must admit I did not really understand all
the previous technical replies)?I have checked the graphic options menu and highest resolution I get is 1280x960? Unless I have done something wrong, it is the same
for me as before... so I wondered about any "official" statement...If not no biggy... as I have the "manual" settings found on these boards
-
Yes, several more reported it to me...
Even the widescreen option/tool IS implemented in 1.82... seems it's not working atm
-
the widescreen plugin aka jflp is active and running
i can not give a confirmation that it ever worked as supposed as i am still skeptical about it -
I have the "manual" settings found on these boards
jflp (widescreen) requires all fovx values in Cameras.ini to be zero.
If you have manual edits in Cameras.ini, then jflp will not be enabled.
Also, you can double-check DaCom.ini in the EXE folder. It should have a line in the [Libraries] section as follows (case does not matter):
[Libraries]
jflp.dllIn other words, three conditions must be met for jflp to work:
- jflp.dll must be in the EXE folder
- line added to DaCom.ini
- fovx = 0 in all sections of Cameras.ini -
Don't tell too much about what's inside files....
only saying about the dacom.ini one
which can ruin the installation if something goes wrong with it... the others are well explained here.
-
Don't tell too much about what's inside files....
Installing jflp is well-documented. The instructions appear several times in this thread.
But, yeah, I know that Swat is the only place in the Freelancer universe where modding information is taboo.
-
condition 1 fulfilled
condition 2 fulfilled
condition 3 not neccessary as we are talking about jflpac which from what was being told does not require such changes -
condition 1 fulfilled
condition 2 fulfilled
condition 3 not neccessary as we are talking about jflpac which from what was being told does not require such changesOK, that should be correct. I have not tried 1.82 so I cannot confirm.
(Obviously, the line in DaCom.ini should be "jflpac.dll" and the file in the EXE folder should be jflpac.dll.)
Note that the fovx values still need to exist in Cameras.ini, and that jflp/jflpac support more cameras than vanilla. It does not matter what the values for the various fovx's are, but the lines must exist in Cameras.ini.
