I'll tell you from personal experience, as well as experience of several of my friends, get rid of Zonelabs, it causes serious problems for several multiplayer games, and has crashed my computer numerous times before, until I figured out it was that, that was making my comp crash. When I removed it, my computer worked perfect afterwords, and my games worked just fine again. My advice if you want a good firewall/av/antispyware, get Kaspersky, its never let me down and I can still play all my online games.

You know what's funny? I just remembered that if you set Internet Explorer to Work Offline after updating CF, it might work

Im using Vista 64 i dont have to set my explorer to work offline ... but what i did find is that i had to install the 1.7a patch twice for some reason and also when you run CF for the 1st time make sure you right click on the short cut and run as administrator all should be fine after that.

Yep, obviously they've messed something up with Vista

I play on Vista without any problems.. but dont ask me about the CF setup. My darling Devil is the computer genius in our house, and he did all the setup for me..

Zone Alarm should be fine:) it's what i use and iv never had a prob, but... i don't use vista ether,
my fix is... WINDOWS XP!!!! its still the best:D
but VISTA has a cool look. still searching for a good vista theme, there are a few out there just
looking for the right one

did you install some programs like 'nielson net rating' ???

this is messing up the connection to the game too.
i had this experience already.. in case you do have installed, such a thing, make a decission. getting rid of it, or being not able to play CF online with us.

I recently got a brand new laptop with Vista pre-installed on it. I tried time and time again to get CF to work for me but no joy

Then i found the ultimate solution to it......... Downgraded to XP and it works like a dream

P.S. Vista sucks more than a £2000 prostitue is my personal view

its called windows 7 because its their 7th try to make something decent xD

naah it's simply that NT/2k is 4.0, XP is 5.0, Vista is 6.0 so the next one is 7.0, hence Windows 7

There are a couple of articles on the internet about the naming and why did they go for "Windows 7"

im pretty sure that this is just the codename of the OS and not the final name

Windows 7 did have a codename..... although i have forgotten what it was going to be called originally. But from what i read in PC mags is that Microsoft have decided to make it easier for ppl to reconigse what OP system they are buying.
All of this NT - ME - XP - Vista nameing is getting too much and for simple ppl out there (i.e. user who only want a PC to browse Net, E-Mail, E-bay and Porn :D). So this new OP-S will simply be known as Windows 7 to avoid confussing the above ppl. And the next OP-s due sometime in possibly 2012/13 will be Windows 8
