  • Will the purple effects be optional from old crossfire be optional? A lot of the people I know actually hate Crossfire due to the purple everywhere.

    Also, alot of people hate CF because of the NPCs using nanobots and shield batteries. They hate that most fights take an overly long time...

  • A NPC should fight back, but they should die eventually...
    A single dogfight shouldn't last ten minutes, and strategy can't win against blind power.
    I know a lot of people who never touched CF because of the "shitty regenerating NPC's and purple everywhere".
    You'd get a lot more players, this is one of the major complaints I see, really.

  • Oh come on, for a fight against an NPC to last under 30 seconds you need just a little firepower good accuracy and sheer will to do it. Get yourself a shield sucking weapon and that will help a lot. It could bring the fights down to 1 min probably.

  • Yeah I have to agree with Jack there, even with the regening npc's, I can still take out a group of high level corsairs in just a few minutes in singleplay, and on the server the time is cut in half because I have better fighter ships. Personally I love the regening npcs, it makes the gameplay funner, and of course, longer. As for the purpleness of the game, yeah I agree its not all that great, but hey, color only makes up a small part of a game.

  • lol, the npc are not a problem. I played a time ago SP cuz i had no net, and finished the original campaign with the CF on it which means the npc were using nanos. So yeah there are ways to kill npc fast even with weak ships.

  • particle effects are available in purple, light blue, orange, red, green, gold, white, dark blue,....
    all optional


    the low lvl npcs will use up to 50% less bots/bats while the high lvl npcs are stronger now
    usually the ships in x-3043 were the strongest ones... and now more factions use those ships all over sirius (while liberty is still populated by weaker ships)

  • i find it normal that npc use nannobots, i played SP original FL too and there also npc use nannobots, you have just to kill them faster then they repair, take some missles or mines as well. and if you dont win against (this weak) npc how you can ever win again a real player in pvp?

  • here's a tip for npc dogfight...
    anyone pls correct if im wrong ok....
    - first look how the npc move:
    - low lvl npc move are a little bit difference than high lvl.
    - npc usually reacts according to your movement so time it right n try to trick them...

    - never use thust repeatetively to follow your enemy(npc) cuz sometime they tend to use thrust without stopping to get a way from u(sometimes) so you'll never catch up...
    - try using different combination of weapon. Including some shield draining weapon is a good thing..
    - use mine to scatter enemies whose following u from behind for safer dogfight..
    - this is important!! dont use decrease engine power(default='s') to turn coz its time consuming to accelerate back. instead use reverse thrust(default='x') for quick u turn as it will return your speed to max speed when u release the button.
    - use the target body part or equipment function
    etc; dragon kusari attach their thruster to the tail fin.. so blast it off and it'll be an easy target...

    mate i knw aboute this story line. i was ask aboute a REAL story line like in orginal FL . on the begining of creatian of 1.8 OP was write that he will make a REAL single player story line with cut scenes etc . is why i ask becouse this things with data disk i know from cf 1.5 if i remmeber good

    how would you even work it out with scripts, new voices etc.? I dont believe you can get all the original people from freelancer to do voices haha :tongue:

    new voices mean new character then...
    like its been a few years after the original story line right??
    so there must be something about the story is new...
    like a son, fren or apperentice to the original character as the they continue the dream of freelancer...

    another 3 months? err....Humm....I love the way it is now...and i think you have work much more than enough on it, so I would suggest you stick to your original plan, and when its done, you begin to play with us...Its time for you to enjoy also, not working all day...IMO
