I've seen that before. However, I think the music was added in because some of it was lifted straight out of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan! If they did use that music, they must of been able to get a license for it.

Hey OP, the extended intro in the game obviously is in a bigger quality, right? Coz the one in youtube is so... poor:D

+1 magnet... And believe me... There are still hundreds of ppl who didn't saw the video The laziness to search for something different... That's it. It's like watch the Lonestar's videos, may ppl already saw it, but there are many who didn't watched these videos.

Doesnt matter if its US, if you now buy the game, u will not get the long intro

it could be integrates as optional FL intro with the note "not CF story related" since it doesnt really fit to the CF story

If you see in the extended intro, you'll see the whole sol system was melted, and in CF Sol currently is OK.

well, looking at the destroyed stations [debris] laying around Sol here and there, kinda makes me think that CF follows the "extended" story...
and Fire_Wolf, the stations you see now in CF, are re-built by the New Alliance [the one that fled to Sirius]

well. I didn't knew these intro, and somehow explained to me a lot of what I never got just from playing the game.

The true is that the storyline really doesn't reflect what it is in this intro, and that's probably why MS removed it from the new copy's (probably the prove that Freelancer was released before the time and that there was much more planned to offer).

CF partly follows both storylines
CF goes a middleway saying that sol was attacked by nomads and the human civilization was destroyed
but in CF there wasnt a super nova... nomads used conventional weapons so the planets still exist
