LR meeting

hello

I have just watched the discussion on the #lancersreactor chat and followed the link to this place. I was shocked about what has been said.

SWAT came in and some guy asked for help and that was reason enough for TLR members to insult SWAT. What a community does punish players that help other players? I remember that TLR had rules against such behaviour, but those rules have been broken and nobody does do something against it. Is this our future?

Is it true that there is a possibility to keep the server list alive? That other guy said that LR does know about it but decided against it.
What right do they have to do such decisions?
I have a small server for me and a few friends. Where can I play when the list server is gone? I don't want to loose my server.
SWAT quoted what a TLR admin has said, that TLR does decide which server may survive. But i don't want to follow other peoples rules. It is my server and I'd like to do with it what i want.

Can you people help me?

why dont you and your friends join here too? you'll get all the support you'll need from the various ppl here. im sure OP can point you in the right direction regarding your own server too.

He is the TLR adminstrator right? So the admin did break the rules again just like SWAT said.

All the stuff that has been said about breaking rules and abusing powers turns out to be true. SWAT has said the truth and this Louva Deus has lied. I guess I will never visit TLR again knowing that the administrator is a liar and rulebreaker.

Thank you for that offer. I am glad that i have been on that chat and able to see the truth. I am also glad that SWAT has enough courage to say this truth instead of what people would love to hear. Maybe we can help each other.

tlr has been known to be led by vicious ppl, and this will not change anytime soon. so, as much i can say, tlr will die, eventually, and we should not take part in its last breath, or it may take us too down. being independent is always a good solution.

@op, just relax and stay present. do not give any of swat's rights that could be abused, and if it does show to work, swat can always participate.

however, i do not really think tlr will ever become fl community representative again. those times r gone.

Notice, the bold-face highlights of Tourou/Louva's own words: he accuses OP of living in the past, while clinging to his "years worth of results" to prove the GLS cannot be saved, and finally makes OP's own point, that the past "doesn't tell you how it will be in the future "... Does this guy even hear his own voice??

I feel the only guys here that are getting a BAD deal are the Freelancer Community.
It seams that TLR are trying to get some sort of control over Freelancer Servers and its mods, If they do that then it will not be long before they start putting some sort restrictions on useing there site.

I think the mod community have done a FANTASTIC job and kept us all going, " Why " well without them Freelancer would have gone a long time ago.

I went to several other communities to tell them the truth about TLR. All the nasty stuff. Many people confirmed what i said.
A few defend TLR but they have absolutly no arguements. It sounds like they only choose to support TLR because they don't know other FL communities.

after being present at the meeting and reading the posts here i decided to look at a few other forums and post my opnions. anyone wanting the link to the thread on the forum where i posted this pm me.

ill offer my take on the irc meeting on tlr, and on a few other points written here. i apologise in advance if i offend anyone with my views, those that know me well enough will know i mean no offence.

the "meeting" on tlr was imo just a PR stunt by LR admins to "rally the troops" as it were into conforming to thier way of thinking. its about control.
LR want each and every server to abandon thier own forums, communities and servers and to move them all to LR, after all the hard work that those server Admins have put in. and LR to act as the home of FL and a central hub for all FL's activities. this includes access to all the servers source codes, the servers forums, clan forums. a reason for this is because they arent taking up the opportunity to continue on the global server, they want thier own global server. why?
because that way only the servers that agree to conforming to LR's rules and regulations will be listed on THIER global server. those that refuse to comply will be ommitted^^
that sound fair and democratic to you? sound like a promising future for FL? sound like an acceptable future for your server?
if you answer no to at least one of the above then under LR admins decisions you probably wouldnt be on thier global listing.
heres another, maybe minor, point.....Banned players:
banned players from any server will recieve a global banning from the online multiplayer servers that are/will be listed on LR's global listing. hmm...how very democratic. that's oppression in my book^^
we all know that tension exists between certain servers, certain clans and probably quite a few players. we all have out own little corner within the FL universe. now throw all those elements into one centralised community^^ Flame wars would be out of control and endless..let alone breaches into each others servers. we have our seperate communities because thats the way we have devoleped and evolved. and to be honest it suits most of us that way. in the bigger picture we all know we can put our differences aside and act as an intergrated community...when we have to, but realistically its not something that can be 24/7.

now ill offer an unbiased point of view to the comments on OP. i was at the entire meeting and i didnt witness anyone apart from Louva Dues throwing insults. OP just offered his own opinion as to LR admins decisions, and only after did admins of the other, larger server mods actually stop to think. and say..hang on a mo ... hes got a point. all this hard work that community admins/modders have put in to building thier own sites/mods, i.e north quardrant, crossfire, rogue universe, olympus...etc..etc.., will be lost, as it would all have to fall under LR admin control. at no point did he say he wouldnt support LR/FL, but he is in no way going to hand over all of his own hard work. as the admins and modders here in NQ would never do. anyway this isnt about NQ, SWAT, VOID or any other servers opnions on each other, this is about your choices, the ones that YOU, as freelancers must make.

LR is not FL, FL is not LR, FL is all of YOU. you ppl have the power to decide FL's fate...no one else. if it wasnt for all of YOU FL would have died along time ago.

its down to the modders, the Admins and the players to keep the game alive....not some jumped up LR admin on a power trip coz he thinks he knows best. democracy in LR has been dead for a long time. that irc meeting was the proof.

i play multiple servers, time permitting^^, and as such meet many different ppl who all love this game. i for one have played FL, no other game, since its release(sad i know:P). so time to put differences aside and have your say on the future of FL, your server and your community.

My point about contacting MS was mainly for the Global Server (now that its mentioned i guess its safe to talk about lol)... Just so they know there are still ppl out there that care. Would it work? Who knows prolly not but i cant see how it would hurt

i do not believe those suggestions mentioned in the above were meant as a "take 'em or leave its"; but were put forth as starting proposals for ways to counter the obviously negative factors that will come from the loss of GS. Nothing like this that involves so many large egos will go smoothly, that i can promise

if this is LR's base point for rebuilding the site, thier initial ideas, what extent will they grow to?

there have been ideas and suggestions, and work, done by admins to get round the global server list problem. a solution ? maybe....

but ultimately its about control...

agreed on the large ego point;) but egos aside, modders/admins co-operating for a better future is a far better proposal than to be restricted and confined by moving the entire fl community within LR itself.
initial proposals they may have been, but i didnt hear anything to the contrary until certain ppl disagreed....then were muted.....or didnt LR staff tell you that?^^

this was the last post on this thread. it suggests to me that my statements may have hit a nerve...i hope so.

With all my respect, the conclusions i make so far are that on the meeting LR staff offered some pretty stupid ideas. Wonder even how ppl running such place as LR managed to come with them. I doubd its lack of ideas, probably someone is just a bit greedy.

im going to say my view here since this has happened to me before (about a year ago on a different game)

you helped somebody who wants to play FL n stuff so you give them a website isnt advertising

you got flamed for helping a new guy into FL

their only defence they had was insults

at least swat didnt shout or anything otherwise he'd be just as bad

overall the flamers were just jealous that you have a great website and mod which they wish they had, dont worry just let them get on with their jealous little lives

A Global Ban. It just does not sound right as someone who created problem on some server would be a problem everywhere.
