Sidewinder's Fang
The mixologists at Forbidden Island got this drink recipe from the now-defunct Lanai restaurant in San Mateo, where it was the house specialty.
INGREDIENTS:
1 1/2 ounces fresh lime juice
1 1/2 ounces fresh orange juice
1 1/2 ounces passion fruit syrup, such as Monin or
Trader Vic's (see Note)
1 ounce dark Jamaican rum (such as Myers's)
1 ounce 80-proof Demerara rum (such as Lemon Hart)
2 ounces seltzer water
1 spiral orange peel
1 sprig fresh mint
INSTRUCTIONS:
Combine lime and orange juices, passion fruit syrup and rums in an ice-filled mixing glass. Shake until well blended and strain into a goblet or large snifter. Top with seltzer water and stir to combine. Garnish with a spiral of orange peel and a sprig of fresh mint.
Makes 1 drink
Note: Trader Vic's passion fruit syrup can be purchased at Trader Vic's restaurants or at http://www.tradervics.com.

If your looking for a fast way to oblivion, try making my pirate punch:
1 quart of 151 rum
2 cans of (Goya) Cream of Coconut
2 quarts of orange juiceMix well, cover and put into freezer for three hours. Keep in freezer until depleted.
It goes down smooth - cold at first and then heats up when it hits bottom - too much of it will leave you wondering what happened to your clothes - I've been there and it ain't pretty.
I recommend that you do not consume more than six ounces over a four hour period, and no more than ten ounces in a night. A four ounce serving over cracked ice lasts long enough to get a buzz and still mingle with the opposite sex.
The first time I tried it, I did about three 8 oz glasses. I was still wasted the next morning.
Fortunately, I no longer drink like I used to...I quit drinking when I retired from the Army. Besides, drinking American beer after living in the Netherlands for 13 years with access to local and international beers, was like drinking water.
The beer I liked most was Carlsberg Elephant Beer. Although, the Belgium Chimay beers were potent as well.
A Risen Beer from the "Golden Swan Tavern" in Achen, Germany was great with meals. But, Octoberfest beer sampling was one of my favorite sports. Got thrown off a train to Garmish-PK once for excessive celebration. If you've been to Munich in October, you know what I mean. Cheers!
