I was wondering if there may be a way to take off (or decrease) some level restrictions on ships or equipment to upgrade
    equipment throughtout the campaign?
If that is possible, it may help getting started by being able to have a ship with slightly better guns, and more choice...
Getting the Shade or Werewolf in the first SP missions is nice (with good hull/shield protection) but still can't do enough
damage with for instance justiceIII guns or slow lavablades... It may be a solution to allow use of let's say the NY lvl 5 or 6
weapons (but keeping the reputation requirements so you still have to do some missions to be able to get them)?

Alhtough too much good equip might spoil the game campaign...
I think it is really hard to finish the campaign with only vanilla equipment due to the improves on NPCs, but
having access to everything early would make it too easy as well... which is not any better in terms of fun.

It is really tricky, and not easy to figure out the right balance... and in the end Swat_OP may already have found it...
Even if hard (and I believe he has intented to make it so), it is doable :girl_wink:

I had lots of fun tonight (first participation for me in an assault event)!

Many thanks to all, and specially to Swat_OP for hosting this event!

Sadly outcome did not look very balanced but still was fun despite the miner spinning (which I admit must not have been really fun for Swat_OP)
Now I'll go whip myself for such a show and dream of a rematch! *grin*

Here are some screens from gathering (sorry don't have any from fights
as I always forget to take them when tension rises! But maybe someone else
    has?)

Forgive me if everyone does not show up on those:

With all respect, I think you guys miss an important point...

What do you use your ship for?

I do not see anyone complaining freighters are "underpowered" in PvPs or in IC... because
who would use one for fighting? (errrr... right?)

I think this goes along the same line.... What is a battleship made for? If you believe it is made
for soloing in arena or IC, I would greatly recommend switching for a fighter ship...

Now I am not saying battleships are perfect, but this thread would need to move to CF mod development
rather - along with specialized ships thread for instance

There's a problem. Repair ship just can't undock from the Vernon. I tried using my PX Sideswipe char, and it just wouldn't, kept kicking me out. I'm looking for an alternative ship for us to use.

I'm suggesting a Large Transport - 35000 armor, 250 batts&bots, medium handling, no guns worth mentioning. Ideas?
Or Scouser - 80000 armor, 100 batts&bots, and by far shitty handling with no guns? :D

Could be fun and challenging trying to use

Well, I do not know what kind of activities other clans have, but within SA we try to organize expeditions (as |PX| also do - forgive me if I miss other clans),
they are usually opened to everyone, and to my point of view it is a nice way to show new people/freelancers what can be done in groups.
Those days we also have a bunch of volunteers working for the upcoming new swat database (exploration is still a major interest in this huge universe)
We seem to have many people who like to devote their time and bring something new to the game, or just report their observations so others may
use them (ask Orion for example!)

I'll stop here before it starts sounding like a SA commercial (even though it is my job now lol), but those are just examples of things that may interest
newcomers - it did interest me anyway :girl_wink:

Now, as stated above, I have no clue if other clans / different RPs may have other activities that may attract new people (if not for recruiting, just for participating)?

Note: Been a while I haven't seen any news about ASF/CSF confrontation... Which is also a major feature in this mod!

    update:

Reinstalled CF, keeping saves in different folder, and then pasting them back in correct folder...
Somehow it worked and passed this critical point.

I must have had something corrupt (but heck if I can find what! had no problem with MP)
The problem must have been on my computer, so you may end up not finding anything OP...
(if so I am sorry for the waste of time... :girl_to_take_umbrage2: )

Do you want just the last save or all of them?
Will try to upload them and send to you (with my greatest thanks) - if that's what you meant by "attack" (or is it "attach"? )

Bleh... wanted to restart a campaign with CF1.82 new reinstallation, but I still get stuck at the same point
(California minor)... I wonder what's wrong...

Self-note: recall not to spend hours at lvl2 to gather 10M and new ship in SP! LOL

This promotion is more for the clan a recognition of his efforts put into SA than
a matter of requirements at this stage.

We love Silver Arrows, and we wanted to let him know

    Congratulations again Admiral Sam Thomas!
    This is well derserved!

Didn't try the bomber ships, but it would be good to see one in action, so I'm looking forward to it.

I also have a bomber position in Omega Unit, but unfortunately pure bombers are too limited in long engagements.
The Hades with its 8 torpedoes launchers ends up empty of ammo very quickly due to the lack of torpedo choice and limited number
to carry. In IC against motherships or stations it ends up useless when ammo is down (the 2 turrets don't help much).
Sadly, VHFs with Diamondbacks MkII are more usefull in the long term.

Even though I admit a full wave of torpedoes on the Hades is really impressive, it does not last long, and is quite unappropriate for an IC
expedition (tried it) -> hence some bomber pilots going for hybrids ships like the Elder (still have some guns at least when no more torps!)

I myself still look for a compromise, although I am thinking to go for a "gunboat" weapon setup, and giving up bombers for those trips...

TECHNICALLY, afterburners just use the leftover crap burnt from using regular engines and therefore have as much fuel as regular engines do. Now if you are talking about some sort of thruster, the way I understand it is they access the same power core that our regular engines do: the nuclear one. Therefore, an afterburner wouldn't work on these engines. So if you want realism, it's great the way it is.

Not entirely true... (from: Aerospaceweb.org )

"An afterburner is simply a long tube
placed in between the turbine and the nozzle in which additional fuel is added and burned to provide a significant
boost in thrust. However, afterburners greatly increase fuel consumption, so aircraft can only use them for brief
    periods.
    "

However, I am not convinced trying to make a "science-fiction" game realist is a good approach:girl_smile:
(like trying to explain Star Wars technologies! i.e: how to make a 1 meter long laser light...)
just need to take for granted the universe rules sometimes!
