I would think most clans are roleplaying already, and that it is up to them (us) if they
feel that is not enough, by enforcing or creating some of their own rules (that would show
good examples to others).
Recalling my own experience when starting MP, I was unsure at first what license to pick up
as I did not really know what it really implied in terms of roleplay (for instance, what is exactely
the role of a smuggler, and what kind of relationship you are supposed to have with different RP
styles)... I have learned about that reading the boards, and it takes some time to really figure out
what you want to use as RP...
Those days we have many newcomers, and it seems normal to me to give all the new freelancers
some time to let them choose their own path.... But we have to provide the information they need.
Now about the pirate/tax problem, I think the problem is simple - but the solution is not - as it comes
from people's nature.
It is sad to say but people do not like to be interrupted in their little "business"... They spend hours doing
trading, but if someone dares challenging the "trader" by taxing or even killing, first they will be pissed off
because they have lost 10 minutes worth of trading (now this is a really sadreaction to me), and second
they tend take the attack personally hence starting a "flaming war".
People need to understand this is an online MP game... whatever you choose to do implies risks...
whatever license you choose implies running into player ennemies (might as well remain in SP if not
liking it)... and more than that you need to stop thinking your day is screwed because you lost some
damn money in a squirmish that puts you late on your master plan schedule to be level100!
There are so many other more interesting things to do... It is up to your imagination as some other
people already mentioned...
Also... About running into troubles and facing them instead of bragging and flaming around... some
people call it... life!
Note: those problems never occur in Arena when a pirate kills a cop or vice versa... So I naturally
think it is just a problem related with money (and greed?)
This ends my presentation, thank you
