    GR are not always on their GR character while online...
    So they might be online, but a newcomer would not know.


    It may be usefull to have somewhere on the forum a clear list of them with their alternate character's names?
    Not like a 10 pages thread to see who is GR... ok, it is exagerated, but you see what I mean

    I am bringing up this subject because I have had problems trying to
    build up a ship for a specific fighting role in a group, and wondered if
    this may not be an idea enough interesting to develop...


    For example, I have tried to make a pure bomber ship (for a clan project)...
    Of course, there are already perfectly suited existing ships (like the "Hades" for example),
    however after trying out different settings I came up somehow disapointed
    with my results (like too many limitations on torpedo choice or load) and I
    ended up switching for a "regular" VHF with some alternate weapon settings,
    which would end up as good - or even better (sadly)...
    Now I know balancing that kind of ship might be "hell", and in the end just
    may be useless...
    I imagine going for a gunboat approach would be similar - with nothing a VHF
    would not already be able to do...


    However, I cannot help imagine developed bomber, gunboat, (repair ship?) - or anything not
    commonly used currently
    - to develop variety of new group combat formations/technics,
    and enhance diversity.


    I absolutely have no clue on either if it might be interesting (or if it already exists and I have
    completely missed it), either I am absolutely out of subject (please forgive me if so)...


    In any case, I had to write down my (2 cents) feelings on what could be developed in the future...
    Might bring up suggestions from someone else hopefully, if this one does add anything new :girl_sigh:

    If it is action you're looking for, then don't add 15 new system to disperse players throughout space with every mod version, better redo what you had before, and enrich vanilla/1.7 bases/planets/ships database - with 15 ppl playing and the space as vast as it is now in 1.8 every player can trade in different system and never meet each other in space

    The way I see it, it means we have those 2-3 weeks then to take advantage of the new release to get "curious" visitors "addicted"...
    This leads to different threads about clan activities, RPing... There are more chances someone joining a clan will remain active for
    a while on CF than a freelancer... That would be my guess anyway...


    As for CF being too big... I think (correct me if wrong) Swat_OP would rather see all those systems filled than reducing its size to fit current number!

    I have checked the graphic options menu and highest resolution I get is 1280x960? Unless I have done something wrong, it is the same
    for me as before... so I wondered about any "official" statement...


    If not no biggy... as I have the "manual" settings found on these boards :girl_wink:

    Finally - and this would need to be discussed in the leaders board - PX and SA could provide some tips how they are doing - what can be done to keep new players interested and getting them integrated into the clans.

    Why not ask directly the players in what keeps them active in clans? Leaders might not directly know the possible answers as they may be varied...
    (start internal clan polls maybe?)
    Just a possible idea anyway (might not be that much helpfull if Leaders do already know ;) )

    I hardly believe the main problem is about people not restarting FL.



    Since I have started playing MP I have often seen people not restarting FL after a crash.
    Yes, sometimes it made server crash again, but this is nothing new.
    Those days it seems to be something else by seeing the frequency of the crashes.


    Just adding I have been experiencing higher ping lately, even when no server crash.

    Last time I activated CF in FLMM, i chose Open SP option, but I ended up with the story campaign.
    Tried to go through it, but got stuck early in game when meeting Juni in California Minor.
    The mission lead me to California Minor alright, I had the blabla in the bar and accepted mission,
    although nothing happened when launching to space... No Juni, and no way to dock anywhere
    (even trade lines) - Mission log was saying "Awaiting for mission objectives".
    Tried to reload a previous save but it did it again. I had a CF ship the first time so I thought
    it might provoq the conflict, but remaining with a Defender did not change anything.


    I am guessing my CF activation got messed up but I am having no problem in MP, so no big deal :girl_smile:
    (I had done campaign on CF1.7 with no problem)

    It seems interesting, as for most awards SWAT_OP must have access to all data necessary to check for met requirements...
    Although, it might be a time consuming job to keep up to date with all registered people???
    Unless it will be updated on people request only?


    As for Event related awards, it means the event managers will need to store all results?


    It seems a good way to me to get people interested in participating into the community living (very diversified categories, for different personal interests)
    Just need to see if it is not too "heavy" to handle all the data from everyone.

    Since I have resized HUD to fit 1440 x 900 (note: provided settings work great!),
    I am experiencing problem each time I first log...
    It seems HUD goes back to default when entering the game (can't see top bars)...
    It is solved by launching to space (data loading) then everything is fine - until i need to relog.


    However I get stuck if I log in a station bar (can't access launching button) and need to swich resolution,
    then redo the resolution config.
    Note: fonts remain OK, just camera/resolution are not loaded.


    Any clues why it does this when logging on?
