    Thanks for the fact check!

I will tell you from experience I never had luck on 32bit with this 2.0 mod. I had win xp 32 bit for mod 1.9, which worked. Now 32 bit is ancient technology at this point, I'm shocked Windows 10 even made that version (it completely sucks, for obvious reasons). If your PC can support a 64bit OS, I highly suggest going for that, because it will probably fix whatever issue you're having.

Correct me if I'm wrong, doesn't this 2.0 mod rely on net frame 4.5, which windows 32bit can't support higher than 4.0 on windows 7+? That was the issue I remember encountering with 32 bit trying to use the 2.0 mod.

Added chapters 1 & 2, will edit wiki links later. I rewrote a couple lines, changed a few words around, really want to debut my articulation of words with this story :) I suggest reading the whole thing from start to finish each time to follow the story and not miss any details.

    [Introduction]

After years in hiding, the renown smuggler Revan Lai Kyssyr was captured after being setup by Malak Haku, a betrayal that would not soon be forgotten. Revan was lured into the New York System by Malak, who offered Revan the secret location the Star Forge, a mythical space station that is fueled unimaginable power from a nearby star, specifically a Red Giant. Though the Star Forge’s existence is still believed to be a myth, many conspiracists are convinced it exists, indicating that Revan would never reveal herself otherwise, especially in the heart of Sirus Sector.

What happened next stirred up more conspiracies. Though all accounts from prisoners have been discredited by authorities, many point out that statements from these prisoners could not have been a collaboration or diversion, as they were all held on different prison blocks, and had no direct contact with one another. Unofficial reports claim Revan vanished from her cell during a bizarre power outage, and backup generators were “surged with an unknown force of electricity only theoretically possible in quantum physics” according to authorities. All data on Revan was purged from the system, her very existence silenced, and no record of her imprisonment on Planet Manhattan was traceable.

Prisoners claim that during the power outage, only Revan’s cell unlocked, and as the guards began enforcing lock down, she merely walked right past them, as if the guards saw right through her. Engraved on her cell wall, as if by laser, was a message reading:

“To be united by hatred is a fragile alliance at best.”

This message is believed to be a warning against Malak, though nothing about this report is able to confirmed.

    [Chapter 1]

Revan's new found amnomininity at the heart of the Sirus Sector has set into motion a chain of events yearning to be unwoven, with each link in the chain articulately thought out and executed, establishing precedent for the next. With her "clean-slate" from any network mainframe, an alliance is forming. The very same hour that Revan mysteriously walked right out of a maximum security prison unnoticed, a recruiter named Carth for the Corsairs, who often recruit from released prisoners at the doorstep to freedom, was intrigued by the stance and sense of purpose Revan walked with, and sought to introduce himself. So intrigued was he, that he offered her a job after briefly conversing with Revan about her experience as a pilot. The Corsairs rarely ask who, what, where, when or why in regard to vetting a recruit, so long as they meet the criteria, no questions are asked. Revan saw this opportunity, and she accepted it. She was to pilot an Armored Transport, escorted by Carth's wing of Corsairs from Buffalo Base to Leon Base in the Omega-41 System. Simple, right?

As Revan tells it, the following is believed to be true. The escort was ambushed in Omega-11. Nomad ships uncloaked within meters of the ship formation, opened fire, and destroyed every ship except hers. The Nomad ships then activated their cloaking devices, and were gone within the blink of an eye. Revan was able to tractor in 3 of the 6 pilot’s escape pods, who still remain in critical condition in the Leon Base Advanced Medical Unit. What's questionable about her account of events that transpired, is that Revan's ship contained almost 1500 Alien Organisms, specifically of Nomadic DNA, and yet all ships but hers were destroyed. She was detained and questioned for 56 hours by the Corsair High Council. If it were not for Carth contacting the Corsairs prior to their departure from New York, and for Revan saving the 3 pilots, the Corsair High Council has repeatedly professed their desire to have her executed. The benefit of the doubt is hers…for now.

    [Chapter 2]

Revan’s story checked out after all. Plasma scarring was revealed in a sample taken from one of the escape pods, and all 3 pilots confirmed the chain of events exactly as spoken by Revan. Their survival earned Revan an unprecedented token of honor from the Corsairs, especially from Carth Onasi, who has revealed himself to be an admiral of the Corsairs 3rd Fleet. Admiral Carth wasn’t merely looking for another top-gun to join their ranks, he was looking for a pilot to command a division of the 3rd Fleet. The next 41 days were trivial assignments to vet Revan’s experience as a pilot. She was tasked with smuggling goods throughout the Sirus Sector, alone, and doing so earned her a net profit of nearly 500,000,000 credits after proceeds were paid to the Corsairs. She was so efficient with her trade routes, that she soon foresaw commodities needed throughout Sirus, almost as if when and where, and her reputation of bringing essential goods to famished and undeveloped worlds cast a shadow over the alleged smuggling operation she underwent. Alliances were formed, political influences surfaced, and Revan’s ambitions were becoming a reality. With the thought of Malak roaming the galaxy unchecked itching under her skin, she knew the time to take action was approaching.

With her new found fortune, Revan now owns the Ebon Hawk, an Armored Transport purchased from the Corsairs, and a rare Very Heavy Fighter ship known as a Seething Fury, named Revan, rightfully so after herself. Both ships are outfitted with the best technology and weaponry money can buy, and even unknown technology acquired from various ship wrecks she encountered while trading. The vetting process was over in both the eyes of the Corsair High Council and Admiral Carth. Rumors from New York had reached the border worlds, though all unofficial and circumstantial, the Corsairs were convinced both Revan and the Revan from the rumors were one in the same, standing before them in a briefing about the next smuggling operation. Her alliances and political ties also brought many former advisories to the council, enticed by her sense of greater purpose for galaxy opposed to resentment over rivalries from centuries ago. Even the Red Hessians were present in the council briefing, an alliance never thought to be rekindled. Before the briefing began, Revan pleaded to the council, citing their unity as an example of her ambitions. She pleaded to inquire deeper into the Nomadic attack against her escorts, roam space freely and act as an ambassador for the Corsairs and other factions now united. The council interrupted, stating that she needed to be shown something, for words would not suffice. The council and Revan proceeded to traverse to the ship’s nearby hanger bay.

Nearly finished with construction, a Dreadnought Class Battleship stood erected before them, known as Project Inquisitor. In awe she spectated, mesmerized with the design, the size, and the unique styling and markings, blue and gold paint matching the titanium hill, almost perfectly resembling the markings of her own ship.

“Is this going to be the new addition to the 3rd Fleet?”, she questioned Admiral Carth.

“Only if you will be the Captain.”, he replied with a grin on his face. “Your exploits have earned our gratitude, and your inquisition, so to speak, is why we called this Project Inquisitor. Our engineers have even incorporated the design and styling of your fighter ship, a gesture of our appreciation”

“Your request to roam space freely will be granted Revan.”, explained one of the members of the Corsair High Council. “You’re to report to Admiral Carth, though he will respect your leave, you’re expected to be on standby when we need you. 300 of the finest crew have already been assigned to the Inquisitor, and you’ll be given the chance to become acquainted with them soon enough. Whether true or rumor, do not let your desired vengeance against Malak misguide your direction.”

“Your council, if I may intervene with the fact that….”, Revan began to say before being abruptly interrupted.

“With all due respect, hat’s enough council, leave the speculation and conspiracy theories to the journalists!”, exclaimed Admiral Carth. “Revan, if you would be as so kind to accompany me to my quarters? There is much to discuss. Let the council do what they do best, occupy their thoughts with rubbish irrelevant nonsense.”

"You will know your place Admiral.", replied one of the council members.

"...And you will know yours.", Carth expressed with a stern voice.

Revan and Admiral Carth proceeded to his quarters, where tactics, secure channels of communication, rendezvous points, etc., were discussed. He did not bring up the rumors again, but Revan had a feeling he knew their might be some merit to them afterall. Did it really matter she thought? Considering her surroundings were criminals seeking to justify their actions for the greater good of the galaxy, perhaps only time will tell. The Inquisitor would not be completed for another week at the very least, so Admiral Carth granted Revan’s leave. She professed the urgency to investigate a few systems beyond Rheinland Space, a follow up from a request by the Red Hessians she explained. She would not be too far, anxious to command the Dreadnought Inquisitor bestowed upon her.

“There’s just one more thing Admiral, before I take my leave.”, Revan stated.

“What is it ma’am?”, Admiral Carth replied.

“Though I am flattered by the name Inquisitor, and appreciate the thought and purpose behind it, may I request to have her renamed?”, Revan answered.

“I think that’s a reasonable request we can accommodate, what did you have in mind?”, said Carth.

“The Leviathan.”, Revan spoke with true conviction.

“The Leviathan…how fitting, yet equally intimidating.”, Carth replied.

“Exactly, she will be a ship to be reckoned with, a symbol of strength for those in need, a representation of those now united...”, she said as she turned and began walking towards the Ebon Hawk on the other end of the hanger bay.

"So let it be.", Carth agreed with a grin on his face. "Don't fly too far, the Leviathan beckons to you Revan."

    [Chapter 3]

    (coming soon)

i could help u out with some creds :)

That would be nice! I think the real challenge is when I make my new character, [RA]Leviathan. Getting to buy the ship I want in Omega 11 from Corsairs, then making the trip to Altair for ADV Battleship Turrets while remaining neutral with Coalition (if that's possible). If not then I need to save money for bribes haha.

Figured I'd start a thread to show off our PC builds. Mine is nothing major, but it's pretty and refurbished by me :)

    Specs:

Sony Vaio VGC RB-53 (2006 model)
    Windows 7 Pro 64bit
    140GB HD (don't laugh, was 10$!)
Pentium 4 Dual Core Processor (3.0ghz, old school but still a beast! especially on 64 bit, originally windows xp 32bit, it couldn't utilize the full CPU)
Nvidia GeForce GT 740 w/2gb dedicated video RAM
    4GB DDR2 RAM (mobo can't support more)
Asus Xonar Sound Card 7.1 channel (mobo sound died lol)

The PC was free from my brother, I spent 120$ on the video card and sound card, and that's all I put into it besides LED's (another 10$). Not a top of the line PC by any means, but I can play games like Dragon Age Origins on ultra settings with no FPS issues, so it works for me. Mostly a classic PC gaming rig. I have a separate partition for Windows XP also (for older games). Here are some pics!

The LED under my giant monitor is from my fish tank (my poor fish died), it changes color and I was able to hold it in place with a paperclip (ghetto as hell right?). The speakers also have blue LED's that pulsate with the bass. I also took out the voltage gauge from my Honda Civic (I got a blue LED one in my car now, wait till I start my car thread!) and wired it to my power supply. Kinda useless yeah, but I like looks more than anything.

(PS: Do you see what I see near the duck? shhhhhhh!)

I made the word Vaio blue by changing out the white LED, looks nice. Both CPU and normal fans are blue LED, and the keyboard/mouse combo was 30$. In case you didn't notice, I like blue

So show off your PC build with pics!

You are right. I forgot that the level is assigned to the money you earned, got lvl 3 and got the mission.

I recently beat the entire campaign, including the 10 new levels for Crossfire. Sometimes the money needed for the next level requirement can be ALOT, so I suggest you trade commodities in between story missions, otherwise, you'll be doing ALOT of side missions to get the money needed. Best of luck, the story is EPIC :)

The 'issue' with smuggling is most of time the same with experienced officer. With some knowledge haw this works, you know what is going on in few minutes once log to game. Then mostly smugglers stops smuggle and do something else as long as is cop online. Times when smugglers tried evade cops or hired protection were every time great fun (and this for all involved) but this alas did not happened too often.

And this is it, real smuggler (in game) will play 'cat & mouse' game and profit will be not priority for him. If you want have fun in space (and this can aply also for universe where I'm now :) ) learn to cooperate/interact with others. Players usually fears to lose (money, ship, ...) and try to avoid this using different ways which works, but 'other' side have '0' fun. Maybe if you will try think about it, it can help all have more fun on CF server.

Well said, and even I had the wrong approach towards smuggling at first. Yeah, making 100m in 2 days was AWESOME, because now I can fund a few other characters or ships, and I'd love to have a Battleship soon and really start the roleplay I intend with my clan :)

But having been fairly active the past 3 weeks, (and we all agree), there just don't seem to be enough people on to live the roleplay that existed on this server 5 years ago. @Portalearth just made a great post:

    The hidden fun in Roleplaying

Just the other day we were talking about a "cat and mouse" type of thing, where we aren't smuggling for money, but rather "stolen" Light Arms from another base, or giving someone a "stolen" item and tipping off the police, trying to bring some fun to the people we play with.

But, this topic has digressed enough, so if we can, let's keep the replies for adding to the list.

I hardly can argue about Kotor which still belongs to my most favorite games eventhough kotor ii sith lords messed it up (probably because it was released unfinished and was spoiling with a possible revan story which never happened)

i also was thinking about the starforge when the new death star consumed the energy but the starforce was working different
a giant factory which also was focusing the dark side of the force

i cant judge about the old republic as a game... never played it
but i have my doubts that an online game can really tell a deep story with a specific message (like in both kotor games)

Don't waste 30GB on your HD and 17 hours downloading the online KOTOR version, it sucks! I also agree with your view Kotor II (they released an incomplete game), but Steam released the game with a huge mod-restoration project integrated in, I've been meaning to buy and download it, but then I won't be in space for at least a month haha. They added the missing planet, hours of conversation, and the missing ending that explains what exactly you accomplished by beating the game, probably the biggest question I had when I beat it (even 7 times afterwards).

    OffTopic
So about that Star Forge, how amazing would it be if you created that! I'll pay you to do it that's how amazing it would be :)

So, I'm a REALLY REALLY big fan of Star Wars (in case you haven't noticed).

    1) If you read the books, the movie follows just about every detail, even the ones that piss us off, like:

2)If you read the books, you know what's gonna happen in the next few movies (it's gonna get epic!):

This movie just lays down the plot for the next trilogy and introduces the next generation of characters. I was disappointed in the music for the movie. All the original movies, even with Ja Ja Binks (ugh) have great soundtracks. This movie just didn't emotionally entice me with orchestra like the others did. Remember Luke's emotional scene with the 2 sun's setting? There just aren't enough scenes where the music and what you see on screen go hand and hand.

    Fun fact:

At the end of the day, it's what I expected considering George Lucas wasn't involved. I mean look at the KOTOR games from 2001-2004? LucasArts helped develop every last detail of those games, from the voice acting to the music, to the detail of an alien in the cantina...ask anyone, KOTOR series is one of the best games of all time for RPGs, comparable to FFVII (and I use that comparison with honor). Then they sell the rights of the game to EA for an online MMORPG, and it sucked. So, yeah, to be expected without George Lucas. Come on, it's Disney afterall. I wouldn't be surprised if they start marketing their cartoons with star wars toys for money...oh wait:

    The force has died.
Now it's up to the die-hard fans to preserve the genre that shaped our futures. Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic..the story of Revan, that's the movie we will never get to see, and it is better than all 7 movies by itself.

    1. There are much better prices at special days. e.g. Station Blueprints from Ainu(8900) to Freistadt(24700) or ClassAReports Trafalgar(8000) to Neutro(19200)
Its just as for every commodity, find out when and what is worth to trade, knowledge is force and makes rich.
    2. Police is not so often seen in space last time, so the risk beeing caught isn't so high. Maybe cause they are flying in another universe :D

Thanks for your contribution! I did find the new Classified Artifact Report run, but very heavy traffic through Custodian. I'll verify the Station Blueprints then update the list!

    :bomg::bsinceresadness:
Guess the smuggling days are over

There will still be dozens of items that will take a while to be discovered and/or disclosed at my discretion. Some of the best should be kept secret, but I hope this is a great list for people getting started and need cash. I need a way to keep track myself haha! Watch out for Pirates on these routes, now they know! It's poor practice to smuggle without an escort anyways!

Did you ever go to sleep last night after we finishing smuggling? I agree with you, especially on a 32" LED TV (which I have), this game is a digitally remastered masterpiece! Altair Space is my favorite sector, the detail is amazing!

Thanks for the fact check! Needless to say I was very excited after finally completing the main campaign last night (after many months of technical issues if you recall), and wanted to share my praise on a job well done. Actually, the words "well done" truly undermine the results you've accomplished. The final battle in the Inner Core is epic, great choice on theatrical music for the cut-scenes, and what an emotional ending! Can't wait to see the new ships! Thanks for the sticky too!

This is pretty much an A++ review...

The Crossfire 2.0 mod is "The One and Only...", that is, when in regard to many of the mod choices available for Freelancer in the year 2015.

Being a former Freelancer pilot of this epic space-bound dogfight simulator (some 14 years ago in a galaxy far, far away), reliving the nostalgic moments through mods like Crossfire has perpetuated the infinite awe that is the aftermath of such genre changing experience. This isn't just a FPS, this isn't just another space simulator, and to call this merely a space MMORPG undermines the complexity and significance of the roles you can take (whether in single player or online multiplayer). The year 2015 has just finished, and replay value mods like this are hard to find, less than a dime a dozen I'm afraid.

Chris Roberts is probably most renown for the highly anticipated "Star Citizen", a new space-simulated MMORPG to be released late 2016. His roots date as far back as 1999 with the original announcement of Freelancer under Digital Anvil. As a former entrepreneur of the Freelancer genre, Chris Roberts himself would be in awe of the game-play that the Crossfire 2.0 Mod effortlessly strives to deliver.

The single player campaign alone consists of 10 NEW chapters (over some 20+ NEW missions), three (3) new sectors & hundreds of new systems, over 50+ new flyable ships (including Battleships!), many new alien races (both friendly and foe), new commodities & significantly profitable trade routes, new level 10 weapons...oh, and did I mention you get to fly on the terrain surface of a few planets!? Let's briefly jump into multiplayer...pirating and looting, system conquest, constructing your own naval space base, epic (and I mean EPIC!) dogfights, and who doesn't enjoy getting wasted on the Swashbuckler, smuggling illegal cargo between spaceports with a parrot on their shoulder?

I've participated in the various releases of this mod since version 1.4, so personally I can attest that the development in the final release of Crossfire 2.0 has surpassed anything I expected from a game developed with limitations in 2003. No detail in this mod is overlooked, from the original graphics getting a beautiful make-over, to the newly created (yet highly original) content, everything seamlessly melds as it should; naturally. The extended campaign is very well narrated, true to the unique & dynamic universe that Freelancer is. In fact, it is so true to the original story, you'll believe you're playing an official campaign expansion! The content of this mod certainly delivers that feeling, from hundreds of new worlds, ships, and weapons, Crossfire 2.0 The Last Stand is the mod to be playing in 2015.

You've spent all this time searching for the perfect space-simulation MMORPG, isn't time you started freelancing? I know this pilot has a pirate ship with twin rum dispensers and a crew of exotic female dancers waiting for me to pour the next round.
