I thought that story line started in Nephele, with the abandoned Sleeper Ship, not the wreck in Death Valley. That's just a datadisk with information on the Economy of Sirius, isn't it? Or has that been changed since 1.7?

Pros:
- You form a tighter bond with your clanmates than you generally would with other players on the server
- Your clanmates are there to back you up if you are ever in a tight spot, whether it be running from pirates (or the police) or whether you be trapped in a system running from someone else.
- Through your actions, you can garner respect for both you and your clan among the rest of the server. Never underestimate the value of respect on this server, or in real life.Cons:
- Clan meetings may conflict with your real life schedule
- Conflicts with other clans may arise
- Politics between different clans can be complicated at times. -
You're welcome, good sir.
-
sorry - id prefer not to use anything with red borders or structure as nothing on this portal has red borders or such structures
Well if you take away those two design elements, you're pretty much left with what we already have. I could try to work up something similar, but it would be pretty close to the buttons that we have now.
-
Two more designs. The board format won't let me post more than 5 attachments in one post.
-
I can take a whack at a new design, though the buttons look good the way they are.
Here is the first design that I came up with:
And more similar designs followed:

Thank you. I thought I'd let you guys know my problem with the Cursors, if it sounded like I was complaining, I apologize.
-
I don't think they're up yet. And for some reason, even though I selected "Classic Cursors" as my cursor option when activating the mod, I get the square cursor when I point at a base or other fixture in space. And what's stranger yet, when I'm aiming at ships targeting reticule, my cursor switches between the new square design and the classic circular design constantly. I don't know if this is because I've not installed the mod or Freelancer properly, but it's rather strange and quite annoying. I'd rather not have to do a full reinstall of the mod and game, but if that's what it takes, then I'll do it.

Brings back some good memories, doesn't it?

I've only been playing this mod version since Sunday, but everyone who has played 1.7 will tell you that, if you think about it, there really shouldn't be a "best" ship. For those of you who weren't here during 1.7, most people flew the Lagg because of it's crazy fast turn rate. If you were flying a Lagg and you got into a fight, you were guaranteed to win unless you were a bad pilot or the other pilot simply outclassed you. I don't know if this is still the case (I haven't heard otherwise, but I'm sure that it isn't) but that's a good example of one ship being "Best" for everything, even NPC hunting. That thing could dodge and weave like a hornet, and you could escape most NPC encounters that you couldn't win; so the low hull rating didn't matter.
But I digress. The ships in any mod should be equally capable of taking each other out by equally skilled pilots. PvP is more important than NPC hunting in most mods (including this one in most scenarios) because the fighters available can wipe out almost any NPC opposition that they come across. So in conclusion, there really shouldn't be a "best" ship for anything, because that means that everyone will be flying the same ship(s). And if everyone is flying the same ship(s), what is the point of having all of the other ships available to the players if they are not going to use them?

I'll definitely be more active, but mostly on the server. I'll come to the forums to check out the latest and greatest news of happening events and such, as well as make some posts. Most of my time will be devoted to getting my characters set up and helping CA with recruitment management and rebuilding the clan, so the leader decision on how to help with that will...well, be a great help.
Oh, and OP...thanks for the work you've put into the mod, and sticking with the community. I remember perusing the forums several months ago and you weren't too happy. I'm glad to see that things have improved with you and the rest of the community, however small that improvement may be.

Can I be the runner up if something unfortunate should happen to Ty?
Hehe...

heh, an old and oily CFPD also had that avatar a while ago
later than you, ofc
Just hoping Bugma name don't come from Bug
Maybe better from Bugatti the fastest (car):DI actually got the name from one of my camera lenses, the Sigma 150mm f/2.8 macro lens. It's been nicknamed "Bugma" because lots of people take pictures of bugs with it, and it was made by a company called Sigma; and so the two words were combined. I've been into Photography since early 2005 when I got my first digital camera. It's my most expensive hobby, but that's justified because I can make a living out of it.

yeah i remember that avatar... welcome back
It's not exactly one of the easiest images to try to forget, now is it?
And thanks.

Az, Tyrael, Spiky, Michael, it's good to see all of you again. I can't wait to see you guys on the server.
I read in the ASF/CSF roleplay board that ASF is getting their butts handed to them on a silver platter. You can add one more pilot to the ASF roster, though I won't be of much use until after I've had quite a few hours of training.

And I'll help CA rebuild the clan in any way that I can. I'm there for ya old pal.

And after I got everything setup and launched the game, (I chose the theatrical Broadway style tune as the menu music, and yes, I love it) I created my character and saw that there were only 2 people online. I don't know if this is because the server is not as popular as it once was, or if it was because it was only 1:50am where I am i Texas, but I was kind of surprised.

For those of you that remember me or know who I am, it is good to see you again. For those of you who don't know me, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Gerald, and my callsign is now (IOC)[Bugma], formerly (IOC)[Dark_Angel]. I first came to this server mod back in 2006 during 1.61, and I've been here since, with one 2 year hiatus and one break for several months most recently. My initial break lasted was quite long, and I returned earlier this year only to leave after logging onto the server once after 1.8 was launched. Why did I leave? Because I had to take care of some emotional baggage and other personal issues which were holding me back in life. I'm still fighting with those issues today, though I am coming out on top in every battle. One of the reasons that I have come back is that I am no longer a recluse trapped by social anxiety. Now it's quite the opposite; whereas before I would avoid other people, I now crave social contact. And meeting new people through games is one way to accomplish this when I can't get out of the house. This and other changes have come through time, maturation, and a small dose of a special ingredient.
But I digress. I have come back to my home. Yes, I consider this my home in the Freelancer universe. Crossfire was the first fully developed Freelancer mod that I played, and (IOC) was the very first clan that I joined in any game of any sort. Only over the past couple of days have I been reading through the threads on the forum to catch up with what's been going on, and I'm rather sad to find out that my clan is on it's deathbed, what with members leaving to join other clans or leaving the game entirely. But I will leave those issues to rest, as this is not the proper forum to discuss them in, and they have long since passed. I look forward to meeting you all in space, and I look forward to fighting you in the Arena. It's been awhile since I've been in a fight, and I'll need all of the practice that I can get. And those of you who remember me from the old days know that I'm a "PvP junkie." But for now, I must sleep for it is late and I am tired. Good night, SWAT, and all of its inhabitants. I will see you all in the morning.
Cheers, (IOC)[Bugma]

Very nice work in both vids! I just let it load in my browser, though.
And the background for that image could work if it was at a different angle, or if it were a different picture at the same perspective as the landing pad. I don't know how one would go about doing that, though, as I don't know how to mod worth a darn.
