Unfortunately, I've heard worse.
Thankfully, I can't remember what the song was. I seem to have blocked that horrible memory.

So is it RF that are behind these attacks?
Most likely. As OP said, it is either RF who is hacking the other sites, or they are merely protecting the people who are doing it. Either way, RF is the prime suspect.

yeah - there was an attack
Sorry, didn't see your last post.
Is my internet connection screwing up, or was SWAT attacked again earlier today?

Why 69 d-
Oh, I c what u did there.
Now I really can't wait. I love a good game, but I love a good, well told story even more. It looks like that CF1.8 will have a story that will make this mod even more unique and innovative putting it above the rest. I've played several other mods, but they didn't really include a story beyond the chapters that you read in the information of the mod. I remember when I first started playing 1.7 I was running all over space like a madman collecting data disks and such. I can only hope that it will be every bit as exciting as reading a well written novel, but better because you won't have to read as much. ![]()
Oh, and this is a little OT (but the earlier posts are much...worse), but I won't have my original characters. My dad threw out my current FLID because he thought it was the one I was looking for before I made my current one. I'll have to DL the Account manager, make a dummy user account and get the money and equipment off of his old characters to start new ones. I hate to do this, because it means that the money and equipment I had received is now wasted. ![]()

lol - somebody had a lot of free time on their hands
And a good sense of humor.
I've only seen the one where they are playing chess until now. I like the one where they are in the yard best.

his colony? wtf?
He's part of a collective hive mind. You know, like the Borg.
I like how it doesn't say "Hull breach imminent" until 2 seconds after you're already dead. ![]()
Nice videos, Spiky. Learning is fun.

Wow. I mean...wow.
I thought a lot of this stuff was common sense, but apparently I was wrong. : / As for writing things in the wrong box...ignorance isn't bliss.
I've got it fixed now. I had to turn off one of the options in Zone Alarm. : Hopefully I can be back online as soon as I download and reinstall the mod...and when I find my MPID.
If I can't find it I'll just take the cash/equipment off of my dads old characters and go from there. : /

I'm not sure what causes it, but my notion has been that part of the high ping comes from geographic locale. Crossfire's server is in Germany, where if you're within a few hundred miles there's really no excuse to have a ping less than 100. Overseas in the states, however, pings can easily be twice that figure or even higher. There are probably other factors involved that I don't understand, but part of it probably has to do with the server being a quarter of the way around the world from you.
My ping has always been high on CF (~170) but now it's hovering at ~500.
I get the same results from servers in Dallas in other games as well, and I'm less than 60 miles away from Dallas.
And might I add that every server window of every game I launch drops down to 1 fps no matter what.
Several weeks ago, our internet connection was shut down by what my dad thinks was a DDOS attack. The connection was put back up quickly, though my problems did not end there. I've had problems connecting to any MP game in any server. If I can connect, my ping is usually through the roof. If it isn't, I still glitch so much that I make Nightstalker from X-Men look like an amateur.
The strange thing about this is that my browser and other internet-dependent applications run perfectly fine. I can download files at the max possible speed for my connection, streaming is smooth, and the browsers are lightning quick. I scanned for Grayware/Malware and Viruses but nothing came up. There is nothing running in the background that would cause this, either. I don't understand why my connection would deteriorate so rapidly upon entering a game. This happens in Freelancer (~500), CoD4 (~800 average, Team Fortress 2 (~300 average), Crysis Wars (~1100 average), and BF 2142 (~1400 average).
This is one of the reasons I haven't been on Crossfire recently, and it's annoying as hell. I've contacted our ISP tech support, and they don't know what's going on. I haven't a clue as to what's causing this, but I sure could use some help. My dad thinks that someone I played against online doesn't like me, and that's what this is all about. Quite frankly I couldn't care less, because if that's the reason this happened, then all I can do is feel sorry for the person who did it.
When I check the connection in the Network Connections window, there is virtually no packet loss. The ping -t command in the command prompt yields similar results with 0% packet loss every time I use it. A connection speed test from any site gives the same answer. I just don't get it.
Can ya help me out?
It's a fantastic idea. Id say 20-30 seconds should do it for the length, use a no-hud mod (if it's compatible with the game), Fraps, some good editing, awesome music, and you're done. For the music I was thinking something alone the lines of the Shuhia Taiba theme from 2142, though (I've got the 2142 soundtrack on my computer in Ogg and it sounds fantastic).
^ Now that's sexy.

you are screwed
you can not manipulate that stuff... if you do you will not be able to play the game anymore
Alrighty, I guess I'll try XP Adder then. Thanks guys. ![]()
So it's the launcher which means I'm screwed?
Does anyone know the real .exe file for Crossfire (the .exe that is executed when the "LAUNCH MULTIPLAYER" button is clicked in the Launcher). Or is the Freelancer.exe launcher file the .exe for the game as well? ![]()
If you are wondering why I ask, it is because I am trying to program some commands from the game onto a gamepad I bought awhile back. The only catch is that I need the correct .exe so that Logitech Profiler knows what game the commands are for. I tried programming for the cfwd.exe but that didn't seem to be the right file, either.

why just don't u put it on the 1.8
Because my image is just that - an image. It isn't a skin on a 3D model, It's a colored layer over the image of the ship.
Now if you're asking why doesn't OP put a ship like that in the mod...well I'm not sure it appeals to his taste (although the [GAY] can would have loved it).
