Bah...the Shroud is simply the most popular ship on the server because it has decent stats and it's close to home. I've spent the past several hours flying ships in the Altair sector, and there are several designs in that area that can match the Shroud in agility, armor, and weaponry. Styling, however, is another issue altogether. And as for it's hitbox (size) I usually don't have any issues hitting the Shroud with my guns. My personal favorite ship? Well, you'll just have to wait and see. No, it's not the Terror. I'm swapping that out for something else later on this evening.
Old, but still funny. Oh how I love the Onion News Network.
My computer can handle recording with FRAPS but I don't know if my GFX card can handle the advanced shaders option. Oh, and I've made a title title animation in Jashakra. It's pretty basic and I can't get it to save for some reason, but it's a start.
It's an excellent tool for keeping up to date with the SWAT universe. I applaud it's creator.
Also, you may want to turn off your AV program before you install anything first.
Good luck
More importantly, and as a general rule, scan whatever you plan on installing before you actually install it.
Good luck.
True. I suppose I could just use VirtualDub to compress the files, so long as they're recorded in .avi format.
There is most likely an option somewhere in the software that allows it to automatically delete any files that it deems a threat to the safety of the computer, and that's probably why it deleted everything. This is actually a common option in many different AV programs, as it saves the user from having to delete an infected file themselves whenever they find one (unless it can't be deleted, but that's another issue entirely).
Just reinstall everything in this order:
Freelancer Mod Manager -> Crossfire 1.8 (Only install to the FLMM directory, DO NOT ACTIVATE YET) -> Freelancer
Once this is done, add the entire FL directory to your exceptions list in Avast, and then activate the mod.
I'm planning on trying to make a new promotional vid for 1.81, and I need some help. I need suggestions for some good screen capture software that won't bog down my system while I'm recording, or produce files of obscene sizes. Oh, and it has to be freeware. I'm currently searching Google and around the internet, but I thought I would post here in case anyone knew a program that I might not be able to find through online search engines.
And yes, I know that I'll have to reinstall the mod with the "screen capture" option turned on in order for this to work, which is what I'll most likely be doing for the next hour or so, besides looking for some software.
It's an animation of a clay blob chewing some bubblegum.
Move the entire Freelancer directory or path to the exceptions list in your anti virus software. This should keep your AV software from thinking that Crossfire has viruses or is a virus itself. It's a rather common issue, and it's being worked on.
I added the FL files to the exceptions list in Kaspersky, so I have a clean install. Nothing to worry about here.
So the AV issue is really that complicated, eh? Then I suppose I could start recording footage asap in SP mode so I wouldn't have to deal with console messages popping up on my screen and lag.
Most of the professional AV have no problem with CF, just the free crap like McAfee and few others... even if you have one of those AVs, you can still play CF after you put it all as exception...
And Windows Movie Maker can also do some combining

Have you seen this one ? ^^
Also, for when you want to make some records in the game, I have a fixed up file which makes yoru screen be clear of any hud panels, you only see the energy and life bar down there... think you can move that part too but not sure
PS: CFPD is keeping the memory of Shroud now
I watched that on the ModDB download page, and I wasn't particularly impressed. No offense to whoever made it, but it didn't make me think "OMFG I HAVE to play this mod now!!!" Which is what we're going to need our video to do in order to draw in new players, after the AV issue is fixed, if it can even be fixed.
I'd love to make both of those vids, but the software is expensive as hell...I don't know. When (or if) the modders get the anti virus glitch fixed I and a couple others could work on that to help bring more players to Crossfire. That's the only way I'd illegally download the software needed to make a video that would meet my standards, which are high. And then there's the music, which might be expensive (use a track from a music site).
I've never seen that particular method of cargo scanning in any game either, that would have been one neat feature. Green for regular goods and red for BMGs? Now that would have been awesome.
That truly is a shame that they canceled the project, although I figured that there would never be a Freelancer 2 after Digital Anvil shut down years ago. Plus, I don't have a 360, so I'd be missing out.
Seen it somewhere else too, still, it looks like a movie trailer

I remember that video. That's some pure fun right there. I should really think about investing in some software like Adobe Premier, I really love editing and composing vids for some reason, I don't know why. My true passion is Photography, though.
And don't even mention The Pirate Bay or any other illegal software download site. I won't do it.
the real story starts from X in fact and when you read the news you see the hint leading your to the "/&$? Lair" System, then you go there and look for Death Valley.... It never really was in nephele, only that Nephele was easy to find without seeign the quest init first
Oh yes, I remember that now. I spent many days looking in that jump gate in whatever sector it was. I must have looked through 20 systems before I gave up and asked someone where Death Valley was, so I can understand OP why you made them more obvious. Less frustration on the part of the player, but also less satisfaction on the part of the player when they do finish that quest. But IMO, the change is worth it.
well..
pro of NOT being in a clan is:
you can still be friend with everyone on the server (clan-member or not) and you dont have to worry about enemies (unless you prefer to jump into a huge pile of trouble, on purpose)
You can be in a clan on this server and be friends with members of opposing clans. It's not like we hate each other simply because of our opposing RP, that's just stupid. Even though you may not interact with the opposing clan members as much as you would with friendly clans, you can still be friends with them anyways. This is a multiplayer game after all, and one of the reasons that people play MP games is to meet people and make friends online (though the community has had it's rough spots in the past). It's simply part of the modern digital age that we live in. And as for not having to worry about enemies, that's not entirely true either. If you piss off a clan member, they can very easily issue a KOS (Kill On Sight) for you or simply place a bounty on your head, and that's much worse than if another Freelancer decides to place a bounty on your head. Or, someone may simply decide that they don't like you and hunt you down because you said the wrong thing to them, or they may not have any reason at all. You never know who you're going to meet online, which is why you should choose your words carefully when interacting with players that you don't know.
I just wanted to clear up that point for you, I didn't mean to go off on a wild tangent.
