Freelancer and 4K

  • hi there,


    i know 4K is not officially supported but crossfire works perfectly with 4K resultion.

    The only issue I encounter is that the distance number to the solar object is not visible. If wanted I can share a screenshot.

    When I lower the resolution to 25xx 12xx (something around these numbers). Everything works fine.


    maybe someone has the same issue and found a solution.

  • you mean the option when activating the mod? Yes that’s active. Everything else works perfect, just these distance numbers are completely missing

  • Thread may be old but well... I have the same issue in this thread... Distance to target is missing. Widescreen fix exe /patch in the main folder does not change it in any way. Tried disabling and enabling it (it seems to have already been enabled from install).

    Tried disabling and enabling "ADJUST TO DESKTOP RESOLUTION" in Launcher Settings.

    This is an issue I detected in my game in the past in the old CF install through FLMM (but ignored it) as well as on various threads, now did a clean start using 2.01 autoinstaller that doesn't need FLMM. Issues are same.

    In there you can notice the numbers/stats on the SIDES of the target are missing too. It should look like this: 9884e85d83900ed0cbeb6b21ad0a12e9.png


    I notice multiple issues related to widescreen though...


    1. Those 2 numbers down there missing, the % and speed.83b8ce38bd909dc02db039a21f005ecc.jpg


    2. The buttons or in real, mouse location detection of the buttons in the main menu, are like stretched... so when I try to click a lower side button I have to aim under it.

    But in-game the buttons clicking locations are correct, except those numbers being off screen.

    EDIT: Changing desktop resolution to 1920x1080 (still widescreen) and updating the in game OPTIONS fixes everything.

  • Was checking the font fix as they were an issue in the past and could explain some stuff but font fix didnt do anything

  • I was sitting in the same boat with 4K, then I changed the following in the fonts.ini file, Speed and Thruster not showing is fixed by changing nickname = Normal and the distances and health was fixed by changing nickname = HudSmall

    These are my new values and they look good:
