no to be honest you cant say who is the best.... sev is good... marc is good... pcforce... me.... and tons of others
many ppl are very equal in skills and everyone of those has some1 who is better

marc kills sev... sev kills pcforce, pcforce me and i kill marc then

so i would say that there is just a list of topguns (even if most of them are missile spammers ^^)

Let's give a serious response.

Look at the PVP top 100 stats (click on Server stats) and you will get some information to make an assessment.

We have % success rate, total no. of kills and total no. of deaths. Have a look and make ur assessment and report back to this community. My assessment (no offence to anyone so pls dont take offence)

1. Dopple has prob killed himself more times than he has been killed - if he used more guns and less torps his % rate would be better.
2. Some people in this group have 30 to 60 success rate which would imply there are a few players around better than them unless Sev/Gunny are killing them all
3. Richy/Maniac - u need to improve your % rate
4. Why is Argos on there twice? Combining his ates he would be top 5
5. LP Stingray has killed me about 5 times in a row - so I know where I am relative to this board when I look at his stats
6. Most on this board have at least 100 fights so we can reasonably say these stats rep their capabilities

marc didnt play for more than 6 months now... he just came back a few days ago and he just needs some time to be the best again

when he was active before that he won nearly every fight no matter against which player

oh and forget the pvp stats... killing noobs to raise the number of kills does not count

does not mater who's the best, every good fighter have is own style, with spam or withiut spam, sometimes a style simple does not work's with a fighter but makes that player unbeatble against most of the other's.

the best way you have is to try everyone of them.

how long a player did play the game is totally unimportant

there are players which play the game for 3 years now and still cant hit a station from inside
the only thing that does matter is the skill itself

luck, lag and form of the day are important too

i started pvp 4 months ago and i am still bad/ improving but thanks to the odd good day and lots of lucky shots i am 3rd in pvp stats.

but that by no way means i am 3rd best on server
i wiould be lucky to be in top 30

The only rules in combat that matter are these

what a man can do and what a man can't do

for instance you can spam missiles and mines all you want
or you can't, but the enemy might so you'll have to square with that some day.

and me for example, I don't like this idea that it's wrong to use bats and bots, I think people should have to learn to cope with every aspect of the game, it would make fights longer and more challenging, but I can't go against what everyone else has agreed on and has come to expect.

So, can you do what is necessary to win the good fight, or can you not?

Gunny needs to be mentioned in the top guns. not butt kissin becuase it is true.

OP is right, the pvp stats can be very misleading.

If someone has low stats, dont assume they suck. It sometimes means they fight better players in order to learn.

But don't forget you learn with the medium level players too, just wait to see what they can do instead of killing them at once.

i know parts of me were i rock and parts where i suck, i prefer to be the best in one section

uve put jib on that list?
that guy did even loose against BG cadets
remember the last ASF/CSF fight between BG and CHAOS? he had 6 of his best fighters and i was called to the server by the only 2 BGs online and jib didnt win a single fight that day
