I remember "Enable rotation" with the other options of rotating clockwise and so, just having it activated sometimes made my ship stop steering at all, guns kept working yeh. Try remove it's key from options/controls completely and see if it happens again.
-
Thanks Michael i will try that.
-
Michael, enable rotation was not on,any thing else i should try?
-
Unless you press "Spacebar" which controls mouse flight mode, and theres no key at enable rotation, Im not sure anymore... using Z kills your engine but you can still turn the ship fine and engines work if you go forward or so. Not sure about other related issues.
-
There is one button called "Free flight" in controls. You may try map this one and use it and see if it resolved your issue.

Can you please post yours ingame screenshot when you are not able move your ship?
-
Try please press "space" key when you undock from station or planet and check difference if you can move cursor or your ship.
-
Also... maybe you are hitting Turret Mode? It disables ship controls and allows to rotate the camera around the ship.
-
Martind Forlon, yes the ship works and flies great except in combat, then mouse won't respond,as for the screen shot what keys do i use for a screen shot and where are screen shots stored? sorry about the new post think but i couldn't find a way to mark the old post as "help needed".
-
Ajay.i am not sure what turret mode is ,or how to activate or deactivate it,coiuld you explain please?
-
Screenshots: press PrtScr key and it will make screenshot inside Documents/Pictures/Crossfire Shots folder on your PC.
Turret mode is activated via "T" key I think ... it can be altered in configuration.
Only combat is issue? ... must be something local, I bet it must be due flight mode switch, hmm ... are you using 1st or 3rd person view for fight? And which ship are you flying?

The Turret Mode (by default activated with H key, MF has probably altered his key map) is the mode in which you use the mouse (as in, moving the mouse with LMB pressed) to rotate the camera around your ship rather than steer. The weapons still pivot to the mouse cursor, so this mode allows you to engage targets while your ship is flying in the original direction.
(Note from myself 1: this mode also allows taking nice screenshots, particularly in Crossfire which allows using mouse wheel to zoom the camera in/out)
(Note from myself 2: It's valuable when flying capital ships)
However as I re-read what you describe... you mean, the cursor doesn't move when you keep RMB pressed and move the mouse? Can you check in the same things happens with Cruise Engines on/weapons disabled? This indeed seems like a local issue.
The key you use for making a screenshot is PrintScreen (might be labeled as PrtSc), it's usually located between F12 and Scroll Lock. The game will automatically save the screenshot into My Pictures/Crossfire Shots.

Heye guys every thing is ok now i did have my ship in turret mode, thanks for your help guys.
-
Glad to hear that's solved now
Yeah, it was basically a thing of checking all buttons for options. I thought of rare/difficult ones to figure out first, and forgot to mention easy things xD
