FL/CF?....Tagging on to Sasha's comment in MPED....Why do you play

    FreeLancer/Crossfire?......I play it, I guess because I've always been a Sci/Fi nut.....and

I like open ended stories that you can litterally write yourself.......but I guess most of

all, I enjoy the interaction between people all over the world.....You guys and gals are an

interesting group....and from what I've seen....a good group.......I enjoy playing around

you...Now this is said because...so far...no one has decided to use me as "Cannon

Fodder"...(pandora?)....But even then the situation might didtate that I need my guns blown

away....I just enjoy interacting with you guys and gals and acting out my Sci/Fi

roots....thanks for alll the good play....and the help....

  • Jesus.....No offense but please start using periods. O_o

    I loved space games

where you can command battleships and such, but the more reason I bought it was since my old

jock friend back in NC showed it to me in a Paintball magazine as an ad. It looked pretty

good because you can be almost everything, and me and him were going for the Bounty Hunter

jobs....but I never saw him on Freelancer.

As for Crossfire it was the second server

I played on. First was a non-player killing server until I couldnt find it anymore. I

thought I was good enough and started to move to the player killing servers. Crossfire

caught my eye because of the amount of players on. Now I feel it's a server you can't

really get enough of....(might be why the Pheonix guys keep coming back :D )

    Its a

greatly balanced mod. Look at WTS and TNG.....bunch of cap ship uber-weapon jockeys. WTS has

too much clutter and TNG didn't have a story to hook me.

Only dead fish swim with the stream.
Don't discuss with idiots. They only drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience there.

    This is ten percent luck,
    Twenty percent skill,
Fifteen percent concentrated power of will,
    Five percent pleasure,
    Fifty percent pain,
And a hundred percent reason to remember the name!

  • Few words just to talk.
My first multyplayer game was TNG. I

passed hours killing bh just to get the best weapons from the ancient and get enough money

to get the powerfull battleships. I got some fun for the variety of ships and guns I could

find there and also for the different sensibility of the ships when flying. Almost at the

same time I started playing CF (wanted to try everything at that time) and I found the game

full of life for the roleplay and the clans interaction. I just freelanced at that time

loosing a lot CF had to offer. I began to appreciate it again few time ago when I restarted

again and, wow, I found my char still there after months of absence. I was happy to know

that my adventure could restart again as in the best of the Star Trek series.
    Then Sasha

joined the LP in the hope to have great fun out there even if everybody could start hunting

    him.
I'm trading right now so if you wanna get some loot around x you can look for

    me
[50] ooops maybe I had not to say that

  • 1)Nice peeps,friendly peeps
    2)No flaming and no fights

    between
    3)Great mod!!
    4)Great admin

But the things are getting out of

hand lately.Everyone has changed.OP ill need to talk with you.I demand to know whats going

on because if someone attacks CF i will defend.NO matter what.

  • I was raised on comic books and

sci-fi. Star Wars, Ray Bradbury, etc. So I've always enjoyed Sci-fi based computer games

more than anything else. My favorite series was Chris Roberts' Wing Commander series. I

played Wing Commander 3, The Price of Freedom, and Prophecy over and over, revelling in the

    dogfighting and missions.

But what I really loved was the freedom to choose your own

missions and open-ended play of Wing Commander Privateer. I spent more time with Privateer

than WC3 and then much more time with Privateer2: The Darkenging than with Prophecy. When

Chris Roberts left Origin, I was crushed.

But when he parnered with Microsoft and

released Starlancer, hope revived. I enjoyed Starlancer, but, as with Wing Commander, you

have a rigid storyline and not much flexibility. So when I heard of Freelancer, I naturally

assumed it was the successor to Privateer and offered the open ended play and versatility

that I'd enjoyed with those games. I was not dissapointed. Freelancer is by far the best

version yet of this genre, imo. You can play the plot missions and 'beat the game" and not

have discovered one third of all the ships and systems in the game. It's a treasure. And

the graphics are a great leap forward, not only from Privateer and Privateer2, but from

Starlancer as well. There's nothing in any of those games that compares with the pure

aesthetic pleasure of flying through the Manchester system.

    The online play offered

with Freelancer adds an element that was always absent from the Wing Commander/Privateer

products. Because of all the pvp support built into it, Freelancer has spawned numerous

opportunities for online play and modification.

Crossfire is my first real pvp

experience. I've just begun exploring that aspect of it --first pvp dogfights just

yesterday--so I can't compare it to the clans and communities elsewhere. But what I've

seen so far is pretty encouraging. There are those who get all twisted up in the clan wars

and somewhat diminish the online experience, but, from what I've seen and heard, that' s

true to some extent wherever you go.

I have tried several mods and played on a few

different servers, but imo, Crossfire stands head and shoulders above the rest. It has the

most extensive and most coherent universe available. Great ships, great new systems,

weapons, hidden wrecks, ongoing development that puts Microsoft and Origin to shame, and ALL

tied in logically to the original Freelancer and Starlancer storyline. who could ask for

    anything more? :D

  • msg from fourty-seven is worring me
what's going on? of course you cannot tell me

but I'm always around to help in case of need. Even if I'm a bad pirate.

    PS: is

that alright for you guys that I continue to post as Sasha when my in game char is Tanatos?

Some forums are not so flexible [2]

  • Note To Pirates: We know who you are.... [9]

    Crossfire is the most

    interactive, expanding, challenging,
prettiest, deepest and most accessible game I have

ever seen, anywhere. Having arrived somewhat late to the whole MMPG universe is something I

count as a blessing, because I did not have to wade through miles of crappy app's to get

here! Growing up in Sci-Fi, board games (!), arcade systems, and computer games merely

formed a desire in me for the type of game only CF has been able to satisfy!

    Keep it
