Ideas for new version of the mod

  • I'll write down my ideas for upcoming version of CF mod also i will mention some


    bugs (some of them you know verry well):


    - batteships to stop spin when they are


    hitted by other ship
    - Osiris to been able to carry weapons
    - higher range for


    battleship turrents (lets say 1700-2000m becouse ppl with ppc guns can fire on bigger


    distance than a BS! also some gun range (about 100m) is lost when all guns all over the


    battleship are focused at one point)
    - new look for battleship turrents as example 6


    versions of battleship defense turrents. Same specifications for all but different look


    depend what battleship you have/or each BS can use guns of others battleships as example


    bretonia BS use its original looking guns (you can see it when you get Battleship Essex


    hostile) or guns rheinland ... etc. So there will be bretonia, rheinland, liberty, kusari


    original looking battleship turrents, including the turrent that all BS from crossfire docks


    use now, also other new turrent that fires like railgun (will looks cool as secret


    technology from osiris 8) )
    - about 5000-10 000 more hull for battleships
    - new


    shield for battleships - 20 000 capacity, graviton, 300 regeneration rate
    - new prices


    for battleships - 100mil for the battleship itself (that don't include BS shield); 60mil


    for the shield mentioned above; 20-30mil for each battleship turrent
    - new generation


    for the unique guns - mk III with more damage and little bit more energy usage
    -


    alternative gun to ppc guns - it could look again like rail gun but smaller size;


    specifications: range - 1000m, speed - 1000, hull/shield damage - 1200/620, refire rate -


    3.00 or 3.03.
    - new class of ships - like liberty cruiser, bretonia gunboat, and all


    others liberty, bretonia, kusari, rheinland cruisers, gunboats, destroyers.
    - hades to


    carry 2x lvl10 360C turrents - same for king tiger; hades also seems to have problems with


    left turrent slot when gun is mounted its stays at 45C not normal 90C concidering the


    horizon.
    - king tiger to have cruise distruptor slot
    - predator have similar problem


    with upper two gun slots like hades with the one turrent slot, becouse predator can't fire


    with them in bottom right part of the screen but they can fire in bottom left part of the


    screen.
    - elder to been able to carry lvl10 shield

  • -Soulforge Train to have a countermeasure slot (this one


    we really need)


    -Coalition NPC encounters doubled


    -Dual Mine removed or reduce


    damage (it takes away an honorable part of dogfighting)


    -Coalition Warp gates in Sol


    and Altiar reconfigured (you have to be under 400m to auto dock, if you are more than that


    it just makes you sit there when you are on auto-pilot)


    -More weapons on the


    battleship to make it armed like SL BS's. IE: torps, a bigger gun (like those big ass flak


    cannons on the Yamato and Pukov), and weapon turrets that have a better


    accuracy.


    -ASF Battleship NPCs in X and Alliance BS's in Altair


    -Alliance


    bases in Sol such as Pluto, Titan, and Jupitor. And then Coalition bases such as Mars,


    Saturn, and Venus.


    EDIT:
    also the reps with CSF and ASF need to be fixed....if I


    attack either of those factions both lawful and unlawful factions in the area go hostile


    towards me.

    think would be good addition the following:


    - New trade routes therefore new


    commodities for those trade routes


    - New cargo ship with cargo space from 900 to 1500


    (intermediate cargo)


    - the container should give more credits on systems where the


    containers type of cargo could not be found or rare. Plus, depends on the material some


    container should be more available everywhere than others, therefore the prices should


    decrease or increase depends the case.


    - I dont know about this but we do we have


    traders license...if dont, we should have one and start to use them. Punish the people that


    dont use them depends on our role.


    weapon with ammo...and have like 500 ammo each


    (no missiles) Then, ammo weapon should have better range than plasme, laser, etc, type of


    weapons (remmeber light and hybrid weapon get more disperse with the distanse so left


    efective while ammo weapon could go farther until they hit their target)


    - Manual


    dock if it is possible...dont know about that


    - to have a better variety of ship


    speed..such goin in HF from 70-85, MF from 80-95, LF from 90-120
    small cargo from 80-90,


    Mediun Cargo from 75-85, large Cargo from 65-75. I think cruise speed can not be change, but


    if there is a posibility change from fighter and cargo the cruise speed...exmple fighter go


    to 400 and cargo ship to 450, finally battleship to 500


    - jump drive, just an slot


    available to particular ship...


    - I know this one has been a issueand it has been


    banned from the majority of FL community but since im major fan of SG-1 and ST, I have to


    say this CLOAK device just to some ship and they do have to find the cloak drive to install


    it. The only thing that you can not shot while you are cloak...


    - I have more ideas


    but i will post them later.

    ideas


    1/ adjust the physics on the battleships and trains


    2/ maybe more


    trade routes that pay like sig 19 (or reduce the rewards for trading at sig)


    3/ new


    weapons to match the ppcs so more ppl choose differant weapon configs


    4/ adjust all


    the historic VHF they all fly practicaly the same


    5/ attempt to make the choice of


    which ship you use a choice instead of everyone buying the same ships to stay competetive if


    a ship has pluses it must have minuses this might encourge ppl to buy ships according to


    their style of combat or what they wish to use the ship for


    6/ make trains dockable


    at certain stations ie the ones you see npc trains mooring at


    7/ building a purpose


    built unloading ship with high cargo around 800 or more but severly limit it in weaponry and


    abilities perhaps no cruise engines


    8/ change the hull colouring and textures on the


    historic fighters i understand the nostalgia aspect but they will fit into the graphical


    mood of CF better


    9/ sorry RG gonna have to disagree with you about ship speed i


    think ship speed should not be determined by ship class it should be determined by the ship


    a really fast VHF may not be as manueverble as a slower one but one with a thin hull and


    virtually no cargo space might be very nimble and acclerate well


    10/ would a two


    stage cruise speed be possible? so in tight quarters u can travel at say 300ms but full


    cruise is 600ms


    11/ give npc vs npc weapons and station turrets their teeth

    12/ fix the osiris bugs and fit the cloaking device and make it so it has no


    weapon energy for say 10-15 secs after uncloaking but make the ship an enourmous price to


    buy (and perhaps a system for server police and admins to deactivate the cloak)

    all level 10 weapons available to purchase

    ships non detectable when far than 2k, when they are with killed engines. - So we can have


    more posabilities of gameplay (scouting, ambushes, hiding hunters and so on)


    -The


    radar to be less efective in cruise. or decrease efectivity by increasing speed.


    -the


    cloak is a good idea (i know what the FL communite thinks about it), but to be imposible to


    shoot, cruise, dock, drop mines and so on while cloaked and 10 secs after


    decloaking.


    -really adjust the guns, nothink can beat the PPCs


    -The ships too


    need adjustments.


    I know those things are hard to do and take time.
    But i've


    played so many mods, and it's almost the same everywhere.

    the SL ships will stay as is....that design is what they are in


    Starlancer...the only thing different about them are the engine flames (but that cant be


    helped) and the Hades sides (they are supposed to have 2 torps in those racks)


    the SL


    ships all had their pluses and negatives in ship manuevering, it helps make them


    unique.


    I dont think that a second cruise option is possible.


    Radar


    inefficency is a good idea but i think it should go with one of those "add one lose one"


    item possiblities...ie: added speed but you lose radar eff.


    The 2k range is


    stupid....maybe for when your in an event such as a smuggler hunt but it still should be the


    5-8k


    as for the cloak we all know what the CF and FL community as well as OP will


    say. Though it might be part of the Reborn expirence I doubt we will ever see that in


    Crossfire.

    that if we can use more nomad weapons - nomads use some much more powerfull lasers with 1.00


    refire rate but they don't drop them :(

    to dock fire land and i think 5 secs after decloaking is ok to fire.

    idea i mean: i saw that a "hunter" at the pitchblack server used cloak device. maybe do a


    claok device, but this one MUST tp cost alot or elses no player i going to be seen.

    the Bs encounters is not "full" why not make BS encounter in evry system that would be cool

    in CF and we have a massive trade route in sigma is easy money

    there, I uderstand about the cloak issue 'cause i read many lines in lancers reactors


    forum. So it is ok if this feature is not implemented. I suggested 'cause Im a fan of scifi


    pictures and series and despites everyones else opinions a well balance cloak feature would


    be a valuable additions intead of nightmare (no matter people good or bad intentios in using


    it)


    The coaltion sectors are really good but its dimensions are to0 big for the loot


    you find there. You could keep coalition dimension systems if you add 2 things (this is my


    opinion) More valueble loot with new weapons, commodities, etc, and, at least 1 neutral


    place to dock.


    We could implementing new ships of our own design. Like each clan


    design their own ships well balance by the mod admin (it has been done in the past and it


    worked out really fine)


    About the trade route, it is not about the money, you made


    more than enough there. But doing same trade route over and over again gets boring. New


    trade routes are needed with new commodities to have varity.


    About the nomads loot Im


    more than agreeing with pcforce in there.


    Now the point is the following, OP already


    stated we need people to help in the mod. Could we use this thread for people to volunteer


    to help on this? as long as OP agree with it...SO we need to agree what are the changes that


    are acceptable to make and then to designate people to help that


    change.

    cannot find it it is not fiar i NEVER expirienced a claok on FL and i WANT to cloak at FL

    give it up, that is a ban issue there. Many people screw up


    with the cloak mod that real unbalanced. I proposed it here to get a balance version which


    it hasnt been done before. However, it may not be happen...


    SO stop trying to get the


    cloak mode there ´cause lot of people would be unhappy to bring back that old


    issue
