  • Well, if we can´t dock anywere in the

Altair sistems, should we go there, it should exist a reason.
    and, if the coallion have

the same enemy than us, and we are all humans anyway, why not make some tipe of

    alliance.
it would be nice that, if we coud dock in somewhere of Altair, we could make a

    very good deal.
This wolud make the journey very more fun, I think.

  • not really, the Alliance and Coalition are blood enemies. It would be better to

understand if you played Starlancer. As for the bases....not really.

    Knowing that

theres no bases gives you an rush to know that if you give one sight of weakness in a NPC

fight you have a long flight ahead of you.

  • There are bases in Altair

    systems.......

Coalition pilots need to rearm and get a drink in the bar. But the

coalition pilots can dock without using docking rings.

The nomads do have a base in

Altair, in Styx, but due to their shield normal fighters (read: players) cannot dock there.

They will not bring the shield down for you.

Going to Altair means that you just need

to make sure your ship is properly equiped and that you should be ready to take on every

    opponent.

It's just a game, and it will always remain a game

  • As to the question "Why go there?", for exploration and gaining

loot.. There are several items there that can be found nowhere else.

  • and they have wrecks with

    nice loot out there

Your fate is always at your heels. That bleeding feeling when you run into the night from it, it will remain. On your endless run from that one thing that you know will catch up.

    You will be delivered.

    Peace

  • But ain't it possible that the

Russians changed their minds or that the Coalition divided? I mean, with the encounter of

the Nomads wouldn't humanity join each other to fight the threat? Like the Soviet Union

joined along with Great Britian and the United States of America against

    Nazi-Germany.

Besides, I have heard that they make good drinks, or at least good

Vodka. And that Borsjtj is tasty. :D

  • O_o you think that the russia was on the good side in ww2?
    hello?
    before the war

started there were plans to attack germany and other west european countries
    and we

should never forget how many russians got murdered just coz stalin said this

Only dead fish swim with the stream.
Don't discuss with idiots. They only drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience there.

    This is ten percent luck,
    Twenty percent skill,
Fifteen percent concentrated power of will,
    Five percent pleasure,
    Fifty percent pain,
And a hundred percent reason to remember the name!

  • Well don't think

that I have not gone to the Altair sistems yet, because i have gone to all of them, and

stayed a whille, but when we fight the nomads and 1, 2 or even 10 times and we don't see

anything because they are allways atacking us, it starts to be boring.

  • Not only Russia and Germany commited warcrimes during the war. The

Japanese and Americans did it to. Maybe even the British. Ever heard about the bombing of

Dresden? Or Hiroshima and Nagasaki? I would call that one of the worst warcrimes in the

    world.

  • i was not going to compare those countries... i just said that even they fought against

germany they were not that good

  • this is not a politcal/historical

forum, but if you want to know, I think that we can't speak of about who was or not in the

right side for good or bad reasons.

The Russian hve made terrifical mystakes but they

had some reasons to do that.

I sea the comunism like a perfect idea that has made

sense in finishe of the Czars lidership, like the american civil war, but that have been

totaly lost is proposit when the comunism started to be more a prison than

    freedom.

But it's true that like we see, all the tyranys fall down.

    that

should happen to, whit the coalittion.

  • 1. This is a game, FICTION, this means

that we can control who does what, who hates what, and who fights what.

    2. Like i

said, the Alliance and Coalition in Starlancer were blood enemys. We did not form an

alliance when the nomads came....how could we? Sol humans fought down to the lasting seconds

    of destruction.

    3. The Coaliton didnt split. It launched two sleeperships with the

survivors of the Sol destruction to Altiar to begin its military again and one to Sirius to

track us down. Now one to track us down....now does that sound peaceful to you?

    4.

Good does not always prevail. We saw that in Vietnam.

    5. Warcrimes?

Pfft....please....like anyone was afraid of breaking the Genvea Code back then.

  • btw. is it allowed to break the Genvea Code if you fight against aliens?
    i mean those

aliens were not there to sign it

  • Nomads are robots, not aliens.... U can do what ever

u like to them, lol.... Coalies ignored the Geneva conventions and killed everything they

could get at, so they can be treated outside the rulz also.

    Argos: I gotta

disagree... Communism was prolly the stupidest idea ever in human history: Cause it ignored

the basic human need for incentive. For the most part, all the fancy dialectic and utopian

ideals were used as a means for ambitious and cruel assholes to force their will over

    others.

@Neberbord: Forcing the Japanese to surrender by dropping the A-bombs saved

JAPANESE lives.... The conventional firebombings of Tokyo killed twice as many ppl as both

atomic bombs put together.... Japan used nerve gas on millions of Chinese just for sport and

experiments, until 2 years ago no one even heard about it (the americans suppressed it). As

they retreated from Manilla, they killed over 120,000 Fillipinos for no reason at all...

What were we supposed to do with these ppl????

Both Germany and Japan were working on

"dirty" bombs using uranium to poison cities with radiation, and another 6 months of war

would have seen that happen and worse maybe... does anyone really think they were not

    ruthless enough to do that?

But u are right to an extent, many incidents of war

crimes by the Allies happened... shooting of small groups of prisoners mainly on the Western

front, but alot of murder and rape on the Eastern front as the Soviets got their revenge on

the German homeland. And the carpet bombings by the Brits and US was very controversial, and

imo tragic and "wrong". And the British gave up the "white" Ukrainian partisans at the end

of the war to certain death at Stalin's hand.

Dont anyone ever forget it was the

    most brutal war in history, made by ppl who all thought they were "civilized" and "right" ;

lets hope no one EVER tries shit like that again.

  • ur wrong. The

figures i have seen are: Hiroshima about 110k Nagasaki about 70k, night bombings in Tokyo

estimated at over 300k (no one's really sure but more than 70% of the metro area burned).

But radiation-related deaths from cancer in later years upped the atomic count, dunno how

    much.

All the deaths are tragic and the innocent Japanese civilians didn't deserve

to die. That bastard Tojo and his fascist clique did, for sure tho..... As did Hitler and

the hard-core nazis, and Stalin for his crimes. But unfortuantly it's always the ppl who

    end up paying.

  • Baldy dont feel bad the

numbers are not so easy to find. The US General in charge was a real red-neck asshole named

Curtus LeMay... he was behind the anti-civilian daylight attks in Dresdin, Berlin, and

Munich, too btw. His ideal was for EVERYONE there to die so it's not surprising if he

thought it was under quota. In 1962 he was the head of Joint Chiefs of Staff.... and advised

President Kennedy to bomb the Soviets during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

    Actually in

spring 1945 he changed the normal daylight high-altitude bombing runs which were

ineffective, into night low-level attks. He had them remove all extra weight from the

B-29's, including all the gun turrets, and stuffed them full of small incendary bombs. From

then on the bombing campaign was a "success" (a sick use of the word).

    Can anyone

tell i am a ww2 history buff?.. I will shut up now.
