If 'that' is the use of datastorm, yep, I used it

in beta testing. Not secret here, I looked what I had to look, and btw, allready

congratulated in the forum OP for hiding key things as the new systems to that tool.

WolfPack. I agree, Why? Bcz inmature people would use it and spoil the game of others. The

relation of inmaturity and lack of skill to get the same without tool is quite close,

although some people will do the same, but far less probabilities. For me, well, I dont need

datastorm at all if I want to look something inside, only did a bit of this in beta test,

nothing serious, but i dont do it and as today, I dont know the locations of all the wrecks,

for example.

btw, what the heck is datastorm? is it a mod or something? i know what it

does and everything.

The idea that using Datastorm is "pansy cheating" is

ridiculous....

OK u got 3 chars and some SP savegames with full maps....Now u create

a new char and forget where the JH to Hiruga is. So u change chars and look at the map to

find it.. Or F1 out and load the savegame to find it. Or u printed out maps of the systems

previously, and use those to find stuff.

So what is different than using Datastorm to

find it??????

By now most of us have gone through the game entirely several times,

found everything in standard FL at least twice.. Do we have to do the same old "exploring"

again over and over? Sounds more like punishment than fun to me, lol. Especially when u play

alot of different mods or one mod that char-wipes alot. I think if i was forced to "explore"

worthless systems like Cortez everytime i would just go find another game to

play.

Datastorm is an excellent tool for ppl who have already experienced the game

all the way through. And i think its great that OP "fools" it and keeps it from showing alot

of new CF additions. I dont recommend it for newbies, it really is a spoiler. But I think

that some ppl around here just dont like it 'cause of who created it, lol......

@Marc: No i believe Datastorm is completely "passive" and doesnt change any FL or

mod files.

DataStorm and Freelancer Explorer are fair tools to the

following:

For DataStorm-
- People who had played freelancer single player

-sp-(original) several times and check after playing what they missed (like myself) I have

to work and I dont spend my whole live playing a good pc game 300 times to check what I have

missed.

- People who play modded freelancer sp several times and want to see what

they missed in a mod.

For Freelancer explorer:
- Same as above plus:
-

Experimenting freelancer modding
- Checking Modding incoherencies
- Quick

modifying other freelancer mods for their use at sp
- Helping to recreate an idea

about a new mod for the freelancer universe and then use real coding or programming to

create the mod with little or no bugs (Freelancer explorer tools give so many errors if you

dont use it carefully)

One thing is true, when you start to play freelancer,

modded or unmodded, to use datastorm will spoil your game. However, people behavior using an

specific tool, does not mean that tool is bad or else.

After I finished single player

(thanks to Shadows help fixing missions problems) using crossfire, I use datastorm to check

if I missed something in Death Valley. I didnt. I did play a while and found out the

dimensional rift at ???? for the altair system and I went into every single gate. I did try

to use DataStorm to check the system after I explored but OP did a good job to hide this

system from DAtaStorm and Freelancer Explorer.

As long as you respect the server

rules this kind of tools, by using them wisely, it wont be considering cheating for anyone.

PS: Of course, if you are using Freelancer

explorer in someone else mod to change some stuff and used the modified mod in their

servers, that I would consider to be CHEATING big time\\\!
