    I haven't been back here for a while and I've just finished the first part of the story line (original) and have begun the additional story to Crossfire 1.9. I have completed some of the missions, but after arriving in New London and travelling to through the Dublin system to the Hyperion jump gate, I got absolutely slayed by outcasts! (I think they were outcasts). I know there are the extra added ships that have been added to the mod, but what ship should I buy and where from :S ? + what guns?

    While doing original storyline you are already able to get ships such as Sabre.
    However one of the best ships (and one of two only fighters in CF MP) is Cayman. Buy it in Kyushu. It has an armor made of cardboard, but it's one of the most agile ships.
    The best guns you can afford at that moment are CODENAME guns.

    Will the sabre get me through though? Its from the original version of freelancer, yet there are some newly introduced ships from the creation of the mod (which I assume would be far stronger than the sabre wouldn't they?)




    Can you buy the Cayman in single player? And where can you get CODENAME guns from?

    Yeah, you can buy Cayman in SP.
    And you can get CODENAME guns in the same locations you could find them in SP. On the wrecks.

    I would agree with ajay except for the codenames.


    an alternative ship is the chimera from helios, it also is very agile but has a much bigger cargo hold. once u have that go to Freeport 7 and kill nomads so that u can pick up their dropped guns.
    the good feature of the nomad guns is that they don't use any of your ships power so you can keep your finger on the trigger and blast away forever.


    anyways, you now have choices, have fun.

    If your in New Londen you could try to get the Butcher out of Omega 7, Freistadt base sells this ship i did buy this one after i failed in my Trident and this ship toke me all way to the end..


    The cayman is PvP ship for Singleplayer i would not use this type becuse of the low cargo hold.. And the codename weapons you can find here..
    And buy some PPC on planet earth if you know to reach this with setup of weapons you now own.. Best i think wait until your in Sovetskaya and buy there the Coalition Gattlings there one of the best weapons you can find in this game
