I've some problem with Crossfire 1.9.
I try to play SP. After I start from Manhattan at the beginning of the game to meet King, when I "sit in" the ship, the whole screen getting black. I can see the equipments list, the ships list, the comm window, the neural-log menu, some ship's, station's and trade lane's little red and green lights, and the enemies red brackets, oh and the foggy Sun, but anything else is black. Like the gamma resolution down to -1.00! ( I make pictures if needed! )
But when I switch to turret, or backward (V) view, I see everything!!! The Planets, the stations, the ships, everything!
I try to modified all the Crossfire options, and Freelancer performance options min to max, nothing change!
Win XP, AMD 2000+, 1GB RAM, Radeon X1650 512MB ( latest driver, but mostly old )
Have any idea?

hello mister, did you activated advanced shaders during mod activation? (it not work well on some PCs) ... safe are off and on basic shaders. Others options can be a prroblem.
And pls check important theads in this section, one is about solving graphics problems for modern cards ... you can try it

Hi Martind!
Well in the last two weeks I install the game more than 20 times, try to change every mod-option, and performance option! ( with activate advanced shader, later deactivate advanced shader ) Every installation do the same! Well I gave it up, and uninstall everything!
Now I will make a new installation, and try it: How to avoid grafic Problems while playing Freelancer
I give him a last chance!
I'll be back!
Thx from Hungary! -
... I know is difficult try check faq here on portal ... but those who check it, can find nice way how to reinstall cf fast and have more than one 'setup' for use and test.
gl with sorting your graphics problem.

Hi Martind!
I try insert my graphic card as it read, but still no works!
I dunno what is the problem...
When I start a new game, after the intro I "lose" menu bar ( launch-bar-equipment... ), mission descriptions, and the map too. ( pictures )
But if I save game before meet Juni, restart Crossfire, and load saved game ( no intro ), I have menu bar, mission descriptions, and phisical map too! When I launch, I see the Donau's-incident video, but when I "sit in", the screen getting black...Have any other idea?

... Only messed installation come on my mind. Never heard about such problem here. Is possible your CF mod installation file was damaged (it can happen) and this do mess or read below. I played previous version on much weaker PC as is yours, but 1.9 can have much higher needs on PC HW.
Is for you working basic FL installation?
Here is FAQ which can be for you interesting:
http://www.swat-portal.com/php…il&category=7#question162And with your HW I suggest use deactivate adv. shaders. (during mod activation)
Also is possible that not all files during mod activation overwrite FL files as they should. It can happen from two reasons: 1) you need run CF installation as administrator and 2) ! Before you activate CF is needed that you remove "read only" attribute from whole FL folder ... See this FAQ:
http://www.swat-portal.com/php…ail&category=7#question12This is all what I can do for you bcs rly dunno what other can be wrong.

definitely a corrupt installation. did you install the mod into the FL directory directly or have you used FLMM to activate it as mod? The first one wont work and probably can result in what you have.
Check the installation procedure and follow it: Information: Crossfire 1.9 - Installation Instructions

Martind, Hour!
Corrupt installation? Well it's sounds good, because the problem can solve!
Basic Freelancer is working fine in max performance! I try it few months ago with these config...
OK, I write the installation procedure, that was the last:
1, Uninstall basic Freelancer ( delete saved games directory manually ),
2, Clean registry with CCleaner.
3, Install basic FL. / RESTART
4, Install FLMM 1.31 to FL directory / RESTART
5, Install Crossfire 1.9 to FLMM directory /RESTART ( I downloaded it two times, both makes the same problem, I don't think it's demaged )
6, Activate Crossfire 1.9, with advanced shader disabled / RESTART
7, Run Crossfire 1.9, after updating start SP. ( Last night Itry it with run MP, same problem afret launch from Manhattan )( Should I run basic FL once before install FLMM? I didn't... )

Did you remove 'read only' atttrib from FL files if whole fl folder and after run CF installation like administrator? ... those two small (sounds unimportant) things helped more ppl who was unlucky like you
-
Not yet... Maybe tomorrow afternoon...
-
Number 4. Install FLMM to FL directory is not the default directory. Try the default \program Files\Freelancer mod manager\
Hope this help. -
No good news, still no works!
Try to install FLMM to default directory, remove 'read only' attributes from all Freelancer files, run Crossfire 1.9 like administrator, insert graphic card into txt file... Everything the same!
I think next step will be Crossfire 1.82... If it will not work, i gave it up till new HW ...
-
CF 1.82 is not supported, mean if you get the updates from the launcher your installation might be corrupt again.
-
I DON'T BELIEVE IT, 1.82 WORKS!
I made anything like before, but it works! I don't know what was the problem with 1.9, but I won't uninstall 1.82! I WANT TO PLAY!
What are the main differences between 1.82, and 1.9?
May I play multi ( after SP ) with these version?Thx for your help guys!

differences = almost everything
