  • This is probably a long shot but i'm wondering if there is any way of getting the ID back? I kept the .hta on a external HDD and thought i saved my ID but apparently not because when i open it, it says NOT FOUND. This is really saddening because i had so much stuff on the server :/

Is there anyway of getting it back or do i have to, sigh, start over again?

    Thank you,
    LobbyZ

  • As far as i know the hta file just reads out the ID from the registry. Thus if the registry does no longer contain the ID it cannot be displayed.
I dont think there is a way to get your ID back. Eventually if you use the same game, on the same PC as before with the same windows - you will get the same ID back. I once had this behaviour. But most likely you have to start all over again.

But i may be wrong and there is a way...

  • You can, if you still use the same windows account(as in differents accounts the ID changes) get your same ID back, the Freelancer will give you an ID, and you can check if it's the right one or not.

If not, you can also try asking OP (by PM) to "transfer" a char or all of them to your new ID, if you had so much stuff there.

Next time use the Freelancer ID Changer you can find in our download section, it only has like, 4 buttons and shows your real ID and all. Just copying the text file it generates, saves your ID forever, and you can use your IDs on any other place.

  • there is a good reason why every 10 mins the server console reminds the players to print out their IDs
