A connection with internet key (Tim Alice, from Italy) with this speed is too slow to play, isn't it? : 7.2 Mega declared, 3 Mega tested by me.
(I tried to use the "search" because I thought it was a well known matter but I have not found anything.)

too slow for what?
-
To play multiplayer. I tried it and I notice this problem : enemy fighters move a little jerky. Only them, the rest work perfectly. I presumed it was my connection.
If you need it, this is the machine I'm using :
Acer notebook year 2008 : Intel Core 2 Duo Mobile T5670 @ 1800MHz - Ram 2000MB - Video card Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family with 384MB dedicated - Windows Xp SP3 -
Freelancer settings : Standard background - No background dust - Low res. nebula cloud - 1/4 Space Details - Background res. 90% - 1/2 Effects Details (but this is non needed, but my preference).
In this condition the SP work perfectly.
I tested the connection now : 2.8 Mega, 144 Ping. -
more than enough
-
Do you know what could be the problem ?
-
ISP? or too much services running. Search for malware and remove that crap from your pc.
-
I have good antivirus and antispyware (Avast, PCTools Firewall, Spyware Terminator for real-time protection, Malwarebytes and Emisoft anti-malware for scansions only). And good programs for computer care (Advanced System Care, Wise Disk Cleaner, Wise Registry Cleaner, CCleaner ......)... And yersterday I did the last scan anti-malware. .... Boh !.....
-
Wait, those are too many anti virus and anti malware programs at once, the Avast already has a real time protection system(and 7 others systems engaged at once), the anti malwares themselves consume big part of your PC capability and connection(as some of them keep scanning the data from the game itself searching for malware, and also keep searching online for updates).
While playing CF, I'd recommend keeping Avast-only... while you're not connected to the internet(by browser) you don't need the rest of the anti spyware ones at all. But I can't imagine 4 programs scanning the transferred data between the server and you, continuously.
-
Thanks, Michael. But I had already thought it, I tried in every way, even closing many services with "Game Booster", more or less : nothing change.
.... Perhaps I may have a very good hacker that spy my computer. Could it be ? -
No, it can't.
As you say the lags at hostile NPCs is small, that's normal, and can be caused by the server testing and options arround or your ping(which can't be improved much)
-
Maybe some program running in the background, i had a really weird experience with Pando Downloader peer to peer.I wasn't able to find this program in task manager, but somehow it works in the background, i had no time for this shit and simple uninstall this software
(i used this to download LOTRO) also any active torrent can cause such behavior or may be spyware or malware, adware can slow ur connection too.
I would recommend SAS (u don't need better then free version for scanning but without real time protection) for spyware and malware, also Malwarebyte is ok.
But first u need to check what running in the background (usually in ur task manager) and really u don't need such high level of protection, from my point of view good firewall is more than enough for average internet user. But can not deny, sometimes i am paranoid too. -
Having a downloader started while entering the game will get you kicked. Should work on any downloader...
-
I have tried to control the Task Manager, pratically nothing work, 95-97% of system is idle. As I can see with the interface of Sysmetrix (a program to see what you are using of CPU, Ram, disk space etc.) the CPU works always 1-2-3%, no more. ... I tried to close Sysmetrix too ...
I'm not downloading anything, of course. My downloader (Internet Download Accelerator, J Downlòoader) are setted to don't start automatically. -
Then, it's because the server and your ping.
-
So what should I do ?
-
Try making a video of the bug now... to see if it's normal or not(and if it still has those issues).
Your ping is hardly improvable, calling your ISP to put higher priority to the server's IP (helps pretty much in some cases), and some config(which is useless to a powerful computer)... so there might be not much to do.
-
... I'm not very computer experts. ...although in some branches I became it. I don't know now how to record a video, I'll ask to some friends.
Does not have a huge importance for me to play.
I THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR HELP !
Now I'll try the connection priority and other settings, ... we'll see if I can play ! -
Uhm, get FRAPS, you start it, press the F9 (o whatever button you choose to start the video recording) and done
this is good for you to know, sometimes you'll find something you'd like others to see inside a game, right ? in any game
-
Thanks, I'll do.
I meant that generally have no huge importance for me the games, not only Freelancer Crossfire. ..... But perhaps it is not true at all ... in some winter nights ....or when you have not better things to do ..... however, it would be a pity not to have ever played games like Lock on, ..... and Freelancer Croosfire too.
(Note that I used to play Lock On with another copmuter, more poweful, that is terminated. With this I can play Lock On, but not with Flaming Cliffs expansion, or graphics go jerky) -
How to upload a video ? I thought with "Add attachments", but it isn't allow with videos. I have some videos ready.
