I will once say again:

Once the "wait in position" message appears, exit the system via the jump hole, then renter the same system. Your coalition friends should be next to you by the jump gate.
Kill them and that should trigger the next waypoint/event.

@Uncle: I hope this strategy is not needed more. Hovever I think is needed use last mission save if is game patched at this point (i.e. is patched when he is in Menton)
