Intellipoint and Freelancer on Windows 7

    Here is a tip .


    When installing mouse drivers and the mouse buttons don't seem to work in Freelancer, STOP the mouse software from running and start freelancer again. This may solve the problem.


    On windows 7 X64 and Latest Intellipoint software from Microsoft, Freelancer does not recognise buttons 3,4,5,etc.


    Going into Control panel and killing the intellipoint program from running, allows Freelancer to pick up ALL the mouse buttons and you can assign them.

    Oh, mouse problems thread!


    I have another problem with mouse flight. I fly with rotation on. Sometimes mouse stops changing flight direction even with direction arrows still showing up. In these situations I have to turn rotation off and then turn it on again, and voila, problem disappears. Anybody can tell me why it happens?

    It is the same on the keyboard.

    Is this related to what is called "ghost busting"?


    I think I have read subjects about new keyboards allowing more buttons pressed at the same time.
    May be handy when firing at once missiles, torps, CDs, and CMs :?:

    G110 Keyboard and G500 from Logitech here. The Keyboard and the Mouse are working with several Keys pressed at the same time (5 keys for the keyboard and 5 keys on the mouse at once) unfortunal you still will not be able to strafe in 2 directions at the same time for example - FL (or DX dunno) is blocking it.

    Yeah, keyboard problem is with normal keyboards having too small buffer. I have digged my MS Natural Keyboard from old PC, works like charm, no limit to key pressed at once.


    Daywalker, try to bind strafe up/down on mouse. It seems that this way game let's you strafe in two non-conflicting directions in the same time.

    I am also using my old MS Natural keyboard, with custom key mappings.
