... that there are newbies on the server and i would say that they need to ask a GR about rules and such things - to whom i may forward them?
And we have new players nearly every day - and i dont see any of those players online who could answer them questions and explain server relevant stuff (as far this would be the job of them).

Just in case...

Well, personally Huor, I've been making an effort to say HELLO to all low-level players I don't recognize from time to time and welcome them to the Crossfire server. I'll also inform them I'm a GR and if they have any questions or need something to not hesitate to ask.
-
I do similar things, say hello, ask if they need help, help out a bit with infos or money... But whom to call - GRs, information chars, EMs, anyone who's an experienced player?
-
i Know that you're an GR and i know Michael is - dunno who else. On one side i was just curious if i may forward them with questions related to rules to you or not.
And in former times we had CF_Info chars - i have seen PX having such a char - but whats the point of having them when they are not online. New players always have questions - the most common: How and where can i make money.. I feel a bit lost when players ask me this question. I have no particular clue where the next good freighter is and whats the best trade route. I would buy a freighter and start to trade right in NYI mean all i would like to avoid is that new players feel lost on the server and therefore it would be nice to see an GR from time to time or any of those CF_Info chars, wouldnt it?
-
Hmmmm, it is a perplexing problem Huor... I guess since we can only have so many GRs, is to get all clans to pitch in a CF_INFO character as well and put no stipulation on how many there can be per clan. That's the only way I know of to combat that issue, is to throw more "manpower" at it.
-
GR are not always on their GR character while online...
So they might be online, but a newcomer would not know.It may be usefull to have somewhere on the forum a clear list of them with their alternate character's names?
Not like a 10 pages thread to see who is GR... ok, it is exagerated, but you see what I meanWould need to be updated regularly though I guess... Just a thought anyway...
-
Sure it needs more manpower - but either we do something to fill the server with people and animate them to stay there a while or a while longer or we see them coming and going... Those chars could share the load - so that a char keeps online for 15 or 30 minutes than the next half an hour no one and then a next one and and and... Just an idea. I know that the GRs also have RL and other stuff to do. Faabys idea to state whom is whom for the GRs might not be the worst idea
But also those CF_Info chars would need to be named with their char names... -
I have a simpler solution for this:
All clan tagged chars are helpful, especially GR which is server police.
I spent more hours in my normal chars helping newbies than in my GR char.... jsut cus that way I could have a chance to do something else while helping 1 or several newbies at onceClans making a CF_INFO char, and spending time on it instead of personal stuff and keep them active, looks like a little mistake... it'd destroy our motivation by not doing anything except helping others... and if some of your new friends group leaves, you feel a bit bad thinking that you lost part of what you done, and you don't have anything (extra) for yourself.
Of course this last sentence has it's exceptions... the richer people could easely do that with no problems, as they will mostly enjoy the improvement of server activity.
So just telling the newbies who police as they have this job, mercenaries(apparently less need to help others), pirates, which are friendly, and explorers who are also with this kind of job, and tellign ask whoever you wish with a clan tag and he will eb glad to help ! This would be something nice
It can be as simple as everyone being friendly with new people, as in the end i's better for everyone, especially the older on the server
(who can start getting sick of the game, while there's not many enough people to have fun with).
