Hello, I am Lanas Redalgo. Perhaps you know me better as the Drakon. No? Alright, it does not matter. I am here today as a longtime veteran to revise the history of this clan, a history originally recorded by the founder himself.
It all began many years ago. Black Dragon was on a mission deep in the heart of Kusari. He had been tasked to hunt down and terminate a well-known fugitive. As a skilled pilot, it was only a matter of time before he fulfilled the terms of his contract. When the hapless thug was finally run down, and the ship disabled, he offered a bribe. The sum of credits was immense. It proved to be too much for his pursuer to turn down. Black Dragon collected this newfound fortune and aborted the mission, setting out to found a small clan of mercenaries: the Dragon Corps. Three pilots, Wolf, Shadow Hunter, and Phoenix, were the first of many to enlist. Their loyalty was unwavering.
Black Dragon could scarcely afford to pay his wingmen after leasing a small, Blood Dragon outpost in the Tohoku System. Smalltime gigs for both the previous owners and Kusari authorities allowed them to stave off bankruptcy and build up a solid reputation. Investments in shipping operations provided the pilots with a steady trickle of income between contracts. Their big breakthrough would come a few months later, when the illustrious Blood Guard took note of their outstanding record of service. Black Dragon was offered a simple job: provide reinforcements for the militarys garrison in Sigma 19, and eliminate any and all pirates encountered in that system. The enemy was CHAOS, an infamous band of pirates under the leadership of Commodore Jib.
The ensuing, three week conflict enthralled much of Sirius Sector. Battles raged in Sigma 19, Tohoku, and X-3043. Hun raiders came from all corners of the Houses to assist CHAOS. Concerned for the welfare of their people, authorities on New Tokyo donated ships and supplies to support the Dragon Corps struggle against Jib and his pirate menace. With the BG and PiA at their side, pilots such as Warrior, Flame, and Firelove drove the enemy back to their lair in Casius. The campaign was a success. Impressed by the mercenaries honor and valor, the Emperor bestowed upon them the whole of Tohoku. DC pilots would forever more be the eternal guardians of Kusari. Many more contracts would follow. Black Dragon and his mighty squadrons became famous and competed ferociously with the Hogosha for regional influence.
When the path back to Sol was discovered, DC fliers were the first mercenaries to arrive. They duked it out with alien gunboats, skipped along the atmosphere of Earth, and marched on with space supremacy rivaled by few. Brave men and women hurled themselves into the abyss. They conducted reconnaissance in Altair and explored the vast territories held by the DomKavash. Many unsung heroes lived and died during this era. Their importance to the clan cannot be understated. The reins of leadership passed back and forth between Phoenix, Haegar, the (very) lovely Dragoness, and I. Through good times we prospered. Through the bad we endured.
All the while there was war raging back on the home front. The Houses were attempting to reunite, and if they succeeded there was no telling what would happen. Would an Alliance government still smile upon hired guns like us? Could our services no longer be required? Might they take away our beloved Tohoku? We could not afford to leave the answers to these questions up to chance. DC generals Phoneix and Haegar led the charge through their commanding roles in the CSF. Every passing month entrenched our clan deeper into the ways of smugglers and outlaws. It was a fight for freedom, autonomy, and our cherished way of life. Then the whole dynamic changed. Nomads and their sinister masters overran old lines of demarcation. Sirius was in danger. Humanitys survival had to take precedence over our internal feud with the Houses. Members came and went during this darkest of times, but in the end most of us were reunited under a common banner.
The Dragon Corps went through nothing less than a reformation. Despite old animosities the Alliance won over the favor of our leadership. It provided lucrative, long-term contracts. These bids were so rewarding and stable that Dragon Corps pilots abandoned the mercenary business altogether. We developed a niche in police work and turned upon our old, disillusioned comrades in the CSF. New and mighty allies were discovered. Binding agreements of mutual defense were forged. Weakened and overpowered, in part by this shift of power, the rebel fleet eventually disbanded. The Alliances position of sovereignty was secured once and for all. Nevertheless, the peoples of Sirius and Altair are not yet safe. Alien forces will stop at nothing to crush humanity. We do not know in this New Year whether to expect salvation or Armageddon.
Famous combat aces like John Donow, Blade, Maxbur, Ancalagon the Black, and Crysis cannot succeed on their own. Time is running out. We need good pilots. So I implore you to take up the challenge. Defend Tekagis Arch. Save the glorious, Kusari people. Join our crusade against piracy and the DomKavash today by speaking to one of our representatives. Tell them that Drakon sent you. Only then will we stand a fighting chance against the savage hordes. Our luck and skill withstanding, perhaps one day after the dust settles and our fates are sealed we shall fly together high over the skies of Crossfire. Good journey, freelancer, and long live the Dragons!

Spiky... I like you bro. When I say this, I say this with respect in that your "net'iquette" could use some polishin' up. Don't dump on the DC's own clan history thread, save that kinda stuff for PMs IMHO.
Nice story Crysis, would you care to add this to the Unofficial Crossfire History/Timeline I created? Do you have any "theoretical dates" of when this story took place? (obviously sometime after the Blood Guard's creation of course)

Hehe, well.. this story was basicaly edited by our brilliant member Drakon,.. as he's brilliant at such stuffs , he also missed some other dragons to add though... tnx anyway
I sent him a PM the last year to ask him if he can edit the clan original DC's clan history( http://www.dragon-corps.hostei.com/history.html ) because it was too short. And he agreed ... he told me to wait until he finishes it as he's also very busy in RL. The DC's Clan history that he edited was sent to me in " Saturday, December 26th 2009 ". And if you wanna add it somewhere as you said...go ahead, .. as you already have plans for it... just post it in that timeline of yours ;].Spiky ... times changed... and we can kick your BG ass now ;]

Annnnnndddd done! Sadly there wasn't a whole lot I could use from the history given from Drakon, but at least you guys have your place in "Crossfire history" now for all future generations to see! Black Dragon comes on the scene in Kusari space in the year 810AS/2990 A.D. and the Dragon Corps are founded in 817AS/2997 A.D and given the Tohoku system by the Kusari Emperor for their actions in duty that same year.

;] .... too bad that Drakon isn't around now ;S , but if he comes back , he can edit it even much better.
Thank you ORION.

Interesting story, especially when it comes about starting funds

No problem Crysis, glad to help add to the massive history/timeline post some more haha! Yea, I can't wait for Drakon to edit some more/update the DC history to give me some more history to add.

The DragonCorps have existed for many years, one of the oldest CF clans though. DC were close to extinction(if I may it that way) , but still.. DC survived through all of these heavy years... and they are still living.
" You may kill us in batte, but Dragons Live Forever! "
( Dragonwarrior words ).

it's good to see that some ppl still keep the clan alive and kicking after all these many years Your dedication is astounding. Thank you
I still remember those days very fondly, and can honestly say that those were the best gaming days of my life DC and BG have remained allies ever since 'The Chaos War' which almost end CF, but thankfully to OP he put his foot down and did what needed to be done to save his work and the server that we have all enjoyed for these past many years. So many thanks OP. and many thanks to all friendships and allies we have all made over the past 7 or 8 years (been so long now lol).
As soon as the next CF comes out i shall of course download it and hopefully i cant get back serverside. Having a prob with 1.81 but i hope to see you all again soon server-side
