Ex: in Pyrddra, the gate to Celldra is on East. and in Celldra the gate to Pyrddra is on North-East. Both are on the right side... how you make the direction of both system to go right, but to met the other systm ? ^^ Unless you spinn the system's coords, but then the other gates in that syste won't fit.
Diablo just said that thing vs my map to find sth wrong ^^ but it's impossible to do, so don't worry about directions to be respective to the gates in each system's locations, make your own ones, or make it grid style :D

Hmmmm... That is a perplexing problem, oh well... Thanks for shedding light on exactly what was going on Michael. 8)

But that efficiency is not to be made for public.

Ohhhhh if only I knew how to code what Lancerthing 2.3 was written in my good man.... I would love to be able to rewrite it in order to emcompass the entire database and maps of Crossfire 1.8. Ahhhh... One can dream I guess. I wonder if even Madpommie, Lancerthing's author is even still around or even still playing Freelancer? His email address in Lancerthing is mad.pommie@ntlworld.com...

  • With simple html and xml you can do it ^^
But again, that's not to be made for public... yet. When it's the time, I may release the perfect one counting efficiency hehe

  • Alright guys, the maps are ready and I must say... For all the criticism I had about the imaged backgrounds, the ones I found for the maps look great and with a little fading, don't intrude on the data on the foreground at all. 8) I think you guys are going to be well pleased with what you see as the finished product.

SAC has confirmed the release date for tomorrow (Monday night) for the new Crossfire 1.8 maps, they will be published with imaged and non-imaged backgrounds in PDF format and AutoCAD format for anyone who has access to it. The only kicker about the AutoCAD files is that a handful of images referenced in the drawings(and included in the zip file) will be included along with a README in the zip file to print out the maps.

  • Interesting... if I could see something.

If it's public, why we have to sign up in a KeepandShare thing, to discover we need manual permission from sa_admin that would late a while, that if we get it.

  • I don't see anything on the links. neither a request to login up to watch. And why a page where you have to pay to sign up ? wth... the only trial is a 7 days free, but even for the trial you have to giv your bank account info.

And the second link is getting at the filedropper main page, like there's nothing there :D

  • Eh? You don't get a download link or anything Micheal with the links I provided? I get a download page whenever I click them, you shouldn't have to login or sign up for anything, it's free hosting. At the least all you should have to do is type in the security code and hit the download button.

  • Yea, I see what's happening now, the damn 2nd link is getting trunicated by the forum and therefore sending it straight to Filedropper's homepage. The first link as you say, seems fine.

Anybody know how to get the forum code to UNTRUNICATE a URL?

    *update*

Nevermind, I fixed the links, it's all peachy now.

D/L away ye noble Crossfire citizens, but beware ye interstellar dangers that lurk yonder, consult ye map always. :D8)

  • Good good, the images in the first link are looking great, and the story of the placement in the milky way is great too :D Good job ^^ It's clear that it's a worked up map ^^

Still, what Diablo said about directions of gates in system to another system are not corresponding, but as it's impossible, nothing to complain about it^^ [thumb] :D

The second one is now working... atm getting autocad :D

Tank j00 sir. :D I drew these maps from the ground up, it was a labor of love. :] Yea, we'll have to sit down come CF 1.9 and figure out how to resolve that JG directional issue then perhaps.

Haha, nice. AutoCAD is on sale at 5-finger discount I take it? :D:D:D

  • Alright as for the keepandshare hosting it should now be set to public. i tested the links at first but my cookies log me automatically so i didn't noticed it wasn't public shared without logging-in.

Thx Michael for your feed back !

  • yw, as I said, nice job, and also eye candy :D

Now, it's the step of advertisement and even teaser videos which includes those maps.

  • that is not possible, the FL engine is limited to 1 map only

Only dead fish swim with the stream.
Don't discuss with idiots. They only drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience there.

    This is ten percent luck,
    Twenty percent skill,
Fifteen percent concentrated power of will,
    Five percent pleasure,
    Fifty percent pain,
And a hundred percent reason to remember the name!

  • You could concentrate sirius sector in 1/4 of the map, in a corner, the cf systems in the other, DK in the next corner and altair in the last corner :D using things like 4,5 (with decimals) as coords.

  • Map in map is possible right?
So u can have the main sectors int yhe universe map (sirius,altai.....). U can also put them in thei actual positions in the Galaxy so u can show the galaxy as the background.
we can them zoom in and...(well u know..its just like the normal way in whic people zoom into a star system and u get the map of the star system. The only diffrence is that there will be 3 layers instead of 2 and u are gonna have to create maps for altair and the core.
This way there is only one main map.

tell me if u dont understand

    meh.

  • Hmm, to see, on the universal map just 3 systems, that are the 3 sectors, you zoom in one of them and you see the systems inside it is an idea... but I don't think it works. But it could be possible that changing some value, you can zoom on something 3 times instead of 2.
