Has anyone considered the fact that RP is almost dead ? You fly around, no one pays taxes, fines. For us to "pay" those repair bills we must all become traders/smugglers to ACTUALLY GET some credits. And when no one pays and we don't trade cause we're supposedly pirates, cops what do we do ? We're on - every time we get killed or we dock. If we want to trade all day, we can just leave our clans mount a smuggler license and start doing trading/smuggler runs. But that's beyond boring too for most. When you fight and win and you have to dock and realise that half of your stuff's gone what will you do ? Just dock and go on PPC/DKA hunts, go to Arena to get Hornets CMs and so on, pay 5 mil every time you lose your Mosquito launcher ? Ask SFP for permission every time you lose your nemesis/cataclysm launchers ? This is ridiculus as we can't make any cash besides trading, so the rest of the roles around here except for mercs and smugglers are practically useless. Cop and Pirate RP is dead, cause every day I see cops I politely threaten to blast their brains out if they don't pay up 2 mil or so and the response is me getting shot at. And after a long battle if I emerge victorios I only lose cash I don't gain ANYTHING from that fight. And I mean anything...

Ok this rule " killed by NPC " is abs stupid. I mean if there is such rule then remove all NPC from the map. The perpoes of the NPC's is to make you problems, trying to make the gameplay a little more intersting after all. This is ridiculous ... Even in massive battles this is a tricky way when you are low to use NPC so you can escape by been pawned not from another person and get his sure point cut ... He had his chance to kill you and missed come on ..

I could of course be the smartass I actually am and point out that on the day the new rules were posted i looked into my crystal ball, said hokuspokus a couple of times and predicted exactly what is happening now.
I could do all that, but i won't.
Maybe i should go by the name of Cassandra.
Or just give a rat's ass about it all this, because, let's face it guys: You can play this game perfectly without letting yourself be killed by npc or drive your ride into the nearest planet.
I don't say i never do it, but it's certainly not necessary. -
I am quite fine with the new rules. Yesterday I was kinda shocked but now I think they are really great after I read them thoroughly.
I can also hope the SP team will enforce ALL of them with the same dedication as they already do with the NPC kill ones.

For me the best solution for this would be high payout for legitimate kills. If pirate kill a cop he get (for example) 1.5 mil instead of 100k, if he destroy a train he get share of the total value of the cargo for example 50% of the lowest bying price).
And for the cops - if they destroy a pirate get 1.5 mil, if they destroy smuggler - 50% of the lowest bying price.
And after that some factions would find it easier to follow their RP instead of trade. Because if you know that the rats will shoot you at sight you will hire mercs for higher share of the profits and so on and so on.
And then you will need only one rule - that only mercenary licensed ship can escort trade convoy. Police will hunt smugglers and rats for the high payout and so on.
But the main point is - things are the way they are. Look on the bright side.

I said it once and I will say it again...
the rules have been agreed on by ALL the clans and are therefor valid... I will not tolerate thread no 18 about this topic where suddenly some players start to have a problem with that.The time to discuss about rules is over.. you missed your chances... and the same can be said about RP. If this discussion goes on into that direction I will close this thread coz i am sick to see a new one every 2 weeks.

the no suicide by NPCs is not a stupid rule at all ... you have to think out of the box
when you PvP in NB 1o1 and lets say... one guy is Crysis the other one Mellon, obviously the outcome of this PvP is clear
so what if Crysis keeps letting himself killed by NPCs? The outcome will be the same again for the next 20 PvPs because he gets full hull and full ammo again, that is why this rule comes in handy... to make fights more fair
BUT NOW if there is a 1vs4 fight like I had yesterday against our lovely pirates and 1 merc and after they kill they find the need to let themselves kill by NPCs when I took maybe 1/8th of their hull ... that is when I facepalm irl and shake my head and ask myself why am I even playing this game
furthermore I see more often people docking in the middle of a mass PvP to get ammo again... what the fuck man, in a ASF/CSF fight ok because both factions do it when they are at their own base... but in a casual mass PvP ?
this is why each time I start to PvP and see this crap I get really pissed and this has be going on for a long time now
oh and changing chars 10 times to catch someone is not RP either, I think you know who im talking about here...
so you see its very easy to be unfair in this game, piss people off
THIS IS EXACTLY WHY WE NEED SPS TO BE MORE AGGRESSIVE and punish a lot more, I know Huor does a good job for this community but I always saw him as the CarePolice... too passive for my taste
I don't see the point why people have to make such as fuss about it... if you think you are unjust fined ask for proof and don't start nonsence like "OMGWTF FINEEE FOR WUUUT?!" ITS JUST IN GAME MONEY

I do not remember having gotten a chance to participate in at least the discussion (not that im saying i deserved it) about this rule before it was "released".
And Simba, your idea is great, the server would have 1 rule for RP and 1 for CSF and thats it - very simple, very effective.
Those who didnt hear about this rule until it's release, please raise your hands^^ -
Eah shits rough one thing i noticed hwile playing before is usually when your in a good pvp you know loose alot of health and your the winner Id sometimes forget to suicide cuz sometimes 10 10 mill repair scared the crap out of me and the little 100k doesnt really solve all your problems. So while the guy you beat gets out of it scratch free besides the fact of paying just to reload his ammo again he doesnt have to repair nothing.
One thing I think should be agreeable if not anything idk if its been implemented yet is to be able to not get fined if your fighting in arena as thats where most people train or clans to train new recruits and when I used to play we used to fight like over 20 times a day so winning a friendly fight and losing like 5 mil in repair even when sometimes your equipment gets blown off much like the coalition torp which is a bitch when it comes to that and getting blown off into space.
