    I ban Mike 'cos, probably.
    Humans are social beings. Thus, having someone reliable to talk to, to trust, etc, as well as feeling of acceptance (i.e. understanding that no matter how horrible you may look or what antics you may have, there IS someone who will still stay by your side) increases morale. So does being capable to share workload, together with strengths combination and weaknesses compensation. In addition, it also increases effectiveness of a teamwork.

    The point is, it can work both ways. I'd recommend to read WH40k Horus Heresy novel "Angel Exterminatus" by Graham McNeil, where it is exploited as a vulnerability, against Perturabo of all people. (And in addition, it is just a good read - one of my favorite Horus Heresy books, at least)
