    Edit: I'm proud that I've been member of this mod and forum for over an 3-4 years, i wasn't so good as behavior before, but that changed, this server gave me a lot of things, improved my english language, much better grammar , friends and so much other things, i know some of you knowed me who i was before untill i changed, i am very proud that i am a member of this community and i am proud that i know you guys for so long , I wish you a very Happy New 2009 Year and let's all solibrate^^

    I simply hijack this thread now do write a short summary of the past year. Dont worry - ill make it short this time.


    Ok the past year was a hard one for us and the FL community. We had troubles with TLR, hacker attacks coming from them and all the other trouble they have caused to the entire FL community. But we stood to our principles and we are for sure not alone with this.


    This was the first full year as game portal with many games. We supported many other community can many others came to us asking for help. But since Freelancer is out main game and since we have serious troubles inside the FL community the numbers of players decreased. We had to accept the fact that there are communities which are important for FL and that they dont care for the FL community.
    We also had to deal with the fact that Crossfire 1.7 is currently one of the oldest FL mods on the servers... other mods got updates in the past year. Having the disadvantage of having a mod which is more than 2 years old was not easy on the server. The development of CF1.8 took already more than 1 year and considering the changes and fixed we have done we were pretty fast creating such a massive mod with such a small team.


    This year - based on all the troubles and disadvantages - we have not managed to keep running this place in a very good way


    about 2000 new members
    3.000 newforum threads
    more than 50.000 forum posts.
    40.000 downloaded copies of the old Crossfire mod
    more than 300.000 visitors on the entire SWAT Portal
    and more than 15mio site hits in 2008


    One new mod in development (FL: Expanded Universe) and much work on the other projects (which unfortunatly are not finished yet).


    2008 was a year of many conflicts and i hope that next year we will have less of those.


    And finally shame on me.... and shame on your - coz we all have forgotten that mid december was SWATs 6th birthday. Id suggest we drink a bit more today and have a good party ^^.
    (maybe we should submit news to the other FL communities about that b-day)

    It's amazing to me that I have now been a forum member here for 3 years (longer than I have held some jobs!). Despite many quarrels, this remains my favorite online community, and I wish for all to appreciate this coming year what an opportunity we have to be part of something great & unique.

    I`m proud of being a member of this community, despite my inactivity this year. I have made many new friends here, and just as with Crysis - this place has improved my language skills & kept them sharp. And during my illness i had such a great support from every single member here, it`s giving me great comfort to know that there`s a place where i`m allways welcome...

    Well I first arrived in late 2003 and I have to say despite all the conflicts and personality issues, this place is still my favorite game portal and server.


    I would like to see the old schoolers re-appear but people move on.


    Anyway 2009 looks to be promising if we choose to make it thatway, I for one, do.
